Victory Java Reserve / Victory Java Cask Mark 30 Years With Bourbon Barrel-Aged Coffee Stout

Today I have two exciting new coffee collaborations coming from Victory Brewing Company in Downingtown, Pennsylvania, and these are particularly notable because they arrive as Victory celebrates its 30th anniversary. The new beers bring together Victory Brewing, sister brewery Southern Tier Brewing Company and Pennsylvania coffee company Twin Valley Coffee for a pair of big, barrel-aged coffee stouts.

The first beer is Java Reserve, a 13.5% ABV bourbon barrel-aged coffee stout that has spent an impressive 10 months aging in bourbon barrels. According to the new label, that extended barrel aging brings a deeper edge to the beer while layering rich espresso and roasted malt with bold charred oak and smooth vanilla. The label also identifies Java Reserve as a collaboration with Twin Valley Coffee and calls it a limited release celebrating three decades of Victory Brewing.

The second beer is the returning Java Cask, which will also be a bourbon barrel-aged coffee stout, this time coming in at 13% ABV. Both beers are expected to be packaged in 16-ounce cans, giving fans an opportunity to experience these high-strength coffee stouts in a format that showcases their anniversary packaging.

Victory Java Reserve: 10 Months in Bourbon Barrels

The star of this first look is clearly Victory Java Reserve. The package prominently displays “10 Months”, emphasizing the amount of time the stout spent aging in bourbon barrels. At 13.5% ABV, this is a substantial imperial-style barrel-aged coffee stout built around multiple layers of dark malt, coffee and barrel character.

The label describes the beer as bringing together rich espresso and roasted malt, bold charred oak and smooth vanilla. That combination suggests a profile built around roasted coffee and dark malt while the bourbon barrels contribute oak, vanilla and additional depth.

The collaboration with Twin Valley Coffee is another important component. The label specifically identifies Twin Valley Coffee and notes that, for the first time, Java Reserve is brewed with the brewery’s neighbors at Twin Valley Coffee.

A 30th Anniversary Victory Brewing Release

The new Java Reserve and returning Java Cask arrive during a milestone year for Victory Brewing Company. Victory’s official website identifies 2026 as “30 Years of Victory,” marking three decades since Bill Covaleski and Ron Barchet opened the brewery in Downingtown.
