Fathers Beer $2 Million Funding Round

Fathers Beer is putting some serious money behind its next stage of growth, and the California-based clean lager brand has landed a $2 million funding round that comes with a pretty recognizable new name attached. Chef, entrepreneur and television personality Robert Irvine is investing in Fathers and joining the company as a strategic partner, giving the young beer brand another experienced voice as it pushes into more retail markets. Six months into distributor-backed growth, Fathers is clearly looking beyond its original California footprint.

And this is moving quickly. Fathers Beer says it has expanded from self-distribution in just two California counties to eight distributor partners covering 51 counties across California, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, while its total retail footprint has climbed beyond 800 locations. That is a fairly aggressive expansion for a beer company that only began working with distributors six months ago, particularly in a market where new lager brands have to fight for shelf space and convince retailers that consumers will actually come back for another purchase.

The Robert Irvine investment is an interesting addition to the story because this is not simply a celebrity endorsement attached to a beer label. Irvine has spent years building businesses around food, hospitality, consumer products and television, and his experience with FITCRUNCH and Robert Irvine Foods gives him a background that extends well beyond his television career. Fathers is looking for more than a familiar face, with the company expecting Irvine to contribute strategic experience as it develops retail relationships, consumer awareness and distribution. Sampling, local events, retail activations and targeted marketing are all part of the funding plan. Getting people to try the beer and then buy it again.

Pennsylvania is particularly interesting here. Fathers Beer reports that its Philadelphia launch added more than 300 retail locations in just six weeks, with accounts including ACME Albertsons, Costco, ShopRite and Gopuff, while California growth has brought the brand into Trader Joe’s and Erewhon alongside Whole Foods, Nugget, Total Wine, BevMo, Costco and Sprouts. Those are meaningful retail doors for a young American lager brand, although the next test will be turning that initial availability into lasting consumer demand as Fathers expands its clean American lager and clean American light lager lineup. Here is the company’s announcement of the $2 million investment, Robert Irvine’s new partnership and its expanding retail business.

New funding supports retail expansion across California, Pennsylvania and New Jersey

LAFAYETTE, Calif., Nov. 5, 2026 — Fathers Beer, the California-based organic clean lager brand, today announced a $2 million funding round six months after launching with distributors. The round includes an investment from chef, entrepreneur and television personality Robert Irvine, who joins as a strategic investor and partner. Irvine brings decades of experience in food, hospitality and consumer brand development to Fathers.

“I’ve spent my career building businesses around products I believe in, and I’m incredibly selective about where I put my name, my time and my money,” said Irvine. “What attracted me to Fathers wasn’t just the beer, which is excellent. It was the people behind it, their commitment to quality and their understanding of what it takes to build a real brand. I’ve seen firsthand how difficult it is to succeed in the consumer space, and I believe this team has what it takes. I’m investing because I see a business with tremendous potential, and I intend to be an active part of helping it grow.”

“Robert has built genuine trust with consumers and translated that trust into successful businesses,” said Joe Cloyes, co-founder of Fathers. “His decision to invest is a tremendous vote of confidence in what we’re building. As our retail footprint grows, this funding will help us support our distributor and retail partners and introduce more people to Fathers. Robert’s experience building consumer brands will be a valuable part of that next phase.”

The capital will support consumer sampling, retail activations, local events and targeted marketing to introduce Fathers to new audiences and build demand.

Retail Expansion and Early Philadelphia Success

In five months, Fathers Beer grew from self-distribution in two California counties to eight distributor partners representing 51 counties across California, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Within six weeks of its Philadelphia launch, Fathers Beer added more than 300 retail locations, with strong sell-through and accounts including ACME Albertsons, Costco, ShopRite and Gopuff.

In California, Fathers has added Trader Joe’s and Erewhon to a retail roster that includes Whole Foods, Nugget, Total Wine, BevMo, Costco and Sprouts. The brand now reaches more than 800 retail locations, six months after beginning distribution.

A Proven Team

Fathers Beer was founded by entrepreneurs with experience building and scaling consumer brands. Cloyes co-founded Youth To The People, acquired by L’Oréal after surpassing $50 million in revenue. Conor Begley co-founded Tribe Dynamics, the influencer marketing technology company acquired by CreatorIQ for $70 million.

About Fathers Beer

Fathers Beer is a California-based beer company producing American lagers brewed with organic ingredients and a focus on transparency, quality and taste. Its portfolio includes Fathers Clean American Lager and Fathers Clean American Light Lager, available in glass bottles and on draft. Founded by entrepreneurs with backgrounds in consumer brands, brewing and the military, Fathers is built around a simple belief: Clean Beer Tastes Better. For more information, visit www.fathersbrewing.com.

Fathers Brewing is a California-based independent beer company working to establish a different approach to American lager, combining traditional brewing techniques with organic ingredients, filtration and an emphasis on transparency. Founded in 2025, the company entered the beer market with a fairly straightforward idea: make an American lager that tastes good, uses carefully selected ingredients and gives consumers more information about what goes into their beer.

The company was founded by a group of entrepreneurs and operators with experience in consumer products, brewing, business development and the military. Among its founders are Joe Cloyes and Conor Begley, whose previous business ventures provided experience building consumer brands and taking relatively young companies into larger retail markets.

The Fathers Beer Story

Fathers Beer was created after its founders began questioning the ingredients and production practices commonly associated with mainstream beer. They believed there was room for a new American lager brand that could compete on taste while placing greater emphasis on ingredient selection and production transparency.

The company’s name reflects the founders’ interest in building something intended to last beyond the immediate business opportunity. Their stated philosophy connects the idea of fatherhood with creating something valuable for future generations, and that thinking became part of the brand’s identity.

Rather than attempting to reinvent every aspect of brewing, Fathers focused on two familiar beer styles: American lager and light lager. The goal was to make recognizable, approachable beers while differentiating the production process and ingredients.

Fathers Beer Clean American Lager

Fathers Beer Clean American Lager is the company’s flagship beer and is designed to offer a full-bodied, crisp American lager experience.

The official beer specifications list the lager at 5.0% ABV, 115 calories and 5 grams of carbohydrates. The brewery lists filtered water, organic Admiral Pilsner malt, organic Admiral Midway malt, organic Admiral Victor malt, Nelson Sauvin hops, Citra hops and yeast among its ingredients.

The combination of traditional lager brewing and selected hop varieties gives Fathers an opportunity to compete in a category that remains one of the largest segments of the American beer business.

Fathers Clean American Light Lager

Fathers Clean American Light Lager provides another option for drinkers looking for a lighter-bodied American lager.

The beer comes in at 4.2% ABV, with 100 calories and 4 grams of carbohydrates per serving, according to the company’s published specifications. Its ingredient list includes filtered water, organic Admiral Pilsner malt, organic Admiral Midway malt, organic Helios hops, organic Contessa hops and yeast.

The light lager extends the company’s reach into a familiar retail category while maintaining the same ingredient-focused approach used for its flagship American lager.

Both beers are packaged in glass bottles, and the company also offers draft availability.

Organic Ingredients and the Clean Beer Approach

One of the main selling points behind Fathers Brewing is its emphasis on organic malt and hops. The company says it selects organic agricultural ingredients and uses a dual-filtration process intended to reduce unwanted substances, including certain heavy metals, chemicals and microplastics.

Fathers has made transparency a major part of its marketing, arguing that beer drinkers should have a better understanding of the ingredients and processes involved in producing their beverages.

The company is also a co-founder of the Clean Alcohol Collective, an industry initiative focused on ingredient transparency and higher standards for alcohol production.

Its approach reflects a broader consumer interest in understanding food and beverage ingredients, although the company’s clean beer positioning is its own brand philosophy rather than a separate category of beer.

Fathers Brewing’s Retail Expansion

Fathers began with a relatively limited California distribution footprint before expanding into larger retail accounts and working with additional distributors.

Its early retail relationships included Whole Foods, Sprouts, BevMo and Total Wine, followed by additional placements at Costco and other regional retailers. These relationships helped establish the brand in Northern California before it began expanding into additional markets.

Pennsylvania became a particularly important step in that growth strategy. The Philadelphia launch introduced Fathers to a major beer market outside its home state, with Penn Beer Sales & Service helping bring its Clean American Lager and Clean American Light Lager to retailers and consumers.

The company has also developed a relationship with Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Lane Johnson, who became an investor and brand ambassador. The addition of Robert Irvine as a strategic investor and partner represents another connection to the Philadelphia market and its food and hospitality community.

The Future of Fathers Beer

With its $2 million funding round and more than 800 retail locations reported six months after beginning distributor-backed expansion, Fathers is now entering another stage of development.

The company plans to use its new funding for sampling, retail promotions, local events and marketing, all intended to build consumer awareness and encourage repeat purchases.

Its immediate priorities include strengthening its California business while continuing to develop distribution in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

For more information about the brewery, its beers, ingredients and availability, visit the official Fathers Brewing website.

Fathers is still a relatively young beer company, but its early retail growth, experienced founders and expanding investor group give it an interesting position in the competitive American lager market. The next challenge will be maintaining that momentum and turning initial retail placements into long-term customer loyalty.
