Ska & Durango Bootlegger’s Society Celebrates Inaugural Colorado Public Lands Day with Commemorative Collaboration Brew

The Bootleggers Society is comprised of all six Durango breweries: Ska Brewing, Steamworks, Carvers, Brew, Durango Brewing, and Animas Brewing. The breweries teamed up to brew a special IPA to celebrate the holiday. This beer is a Double IPA brewed with Simcoe, Galaxy and El Dorado hops. The beer will be on tap at all Durango breweries, as well as at the Colorado Public Lands Day event at the Durango Powerhouse on Saturday, May 20. Proceeds from beer sales will go directly to Conservation Colorado.

In May 2016, Colorado became the first state in the nation to establish a holiday recognizing the value of public lands within the state. Beginning officially in May 2017, the third Saturday in May will be known as Colorado Public Lands Day, celebrating the significant contributions these lands have to our state. The bill, carried by Senator Kerry Donovan, passed with bipartisan support and was signed into law by Governor Hickenlooper. View the Colorado Public Lands Day Bill.
