Revolution Brewing Working On Sun Crusher & Snow Crusher / Fist City

Chicago’s Revolution Brewing is getting ready to bring some serious seasonal personality to its beer lineup with two new Crusher releases. Sun Crusher Summer Ale and Snow Crusher Hazy Pale Ale take the brewery in two distinctly different directions, with one built for warm-weather drinking and the other designed to deliver a tropical escape during the colder months.

The two new beers also continue Revolution Brewing’s tradition of creating approachable, flavorful beers while maintaining the brewery’s strong Chicago identity. Both packages prominently state that they are proudly brewed only in Chicago, reinforcing Revolution’s commitment to producing its beer locally.

Revolution Brewing Sun Crusher Summer Ale

The first new release is Sun Crusher, a bright and refreshing Summer Ale designed to capture the flavors and atmosphere of the warmer months. According to the can artwork, Sun Crusher delivers “radiant citrus notes,” making citrus character the centerpiece of this seasonal beer.

Sun Crusher will be packaged in 12-fluid-ounce cans and comes in at a very approachable 5.3% ABV. The combination of moderate alcohol, bright citrus character and a refreshing summer-oriented profile should make Sun Crusher an easy candidate for warm-weather drinking, backyard gatherings, cookouts, beach days and other outdoor occasions.

The colorful Sun Crusher artwork leans heavily into summer imagery, featuring sunshine, water, a Chicago skyline, beach activities, volleyball and other classic warm-weather scenes. The design immediately communicates the beer’s intended personality before the can is even opened.

Revolution Brewing Snow Crusher Hazy Pale Ale

Revolution is taking a completely different visual and seasonal approach with Snow Crusher, a Hazy Pale Ale that clocks in at 5.0% ABV.

The Snow Crusher can describes the beer as “a tropical escape amongst the soft, snowy haze.” That description suggests a hazy pale ale designed to combine tropical hop character with the soft, cloudy appearance and mouthfeel associated with modern hazy beers.

At 5.0% ABV, Snow Crusher also remains firmly in approachable territory. Rather than positioning itself as a high-alcohol double or imperial IPA, the beer appears designed around flavor, drinkability and seasonal appeal.

The packaging flips the Sun Crusher concept on its head. Instead of sunshine and summer beaches, Snow Crusher features snow, winter clothing, a snowman and other cold-weather imagery. The result is a seasonal beer concept that brings tropical flavors into the middle of winter.

Two Seasonal Beers, One Chicago Brewery

Together, Sun Crusher and Snow Crusher create an interesting seasonal pairing for Revolution Brewing. Sun Crusher Summer Ale brings bright citrus character and a 5.3% ABV, while Snow Crusher Hazy Pale Ale delivers a tropical-themed hazy profile at 5.0% ABV.

Both beers come in 12-ounce cans and are identified on the packaging as being proudly brewed only in Chicago.

Revolution Brewing has become one of Chicago’s best-known independent breweries since opening in 2010. The brewery operates its original brewpub in Logan Square and its production brewery in Chicago, and MyBeerBuzz has previously reported that Revolution purchased its Kedzie production brewery in 2022.

The brewery is also well known for its extensive IPA portfolio, including Anti-Hero, Hazy-Hero and numerous specialty and collaboration releases. Its Deep Woods Series has established Revolution as a major player in barrel-aged beer as well.

For now, the biggest question surrounding Revolution Brewing Sun Crusher and Snow Crusher is when these two seasonal beers will officially hit shelves and draft lines.
