Pike Brewing Announces Permanent Closure Of Pike Pub & Fish Bar
It seems like every week I’m posting about another brewery closing or restructuring…and unfortunately, this time it is Pike Brewing in Seattle, Washington:
After more than three decades in the heart of Seattle’s beer scene, we will be closing the doors to Pike Pub and Pike Fish Bar.
We want to thank every guest, regular, team member, and beer lover who helped make our downtown home so special. From the first pint in 1989 to our final service day scheduled for November 30th, your stories and support have meant everything.
Pike Brewing continues on!
You can still enjoy Pike’s flagship beers, including Space Needle IPA, Kilt Lifter, Monk’s Uncle, Post Alley Pils, Uptown Hazy IPA, and Ol’ Crimson Legendary Lager, at grocery stores, bottle shops, and bars across Seattle and the Pacific Northwest. And our Pike Summit Taproom at the Convention Center remains open and pouring your favorites as well.
This is not the end, it’s just a new chapter. And we’re excited to write it with you.
Come join us for one last pint (all draft beers are $4 through November 30th) and a meal before our final day of service!
Cheers,
The Pike Brewing Team

About Pike Brewing:
Pike Brewing Company is an independent craft brewery in Seattle, Washington, founded in 1989 by Charles and Rose Ann Finkel. The brewery has been a prominent fixture in Seattle’s craft beer scene for over 30 years. While it recently closed its historic location near Pike Place Market, the company continues to produce beer and operates other locations.
History and legacy
Pioneers of craft beer: The Finkels were influential figures in the craft beer movement, not just in Seattle but internationally. They started as importers of European beers before opening their own brewery to bring more flavorful ales to the American market.
Original location: The brewery opened as Pike Place Brewery in 1989 near the iconic Pike Place Market. In 1996, it moved to a larger location on First Avenue, where it housed The Pike Pub, Pike Fish Bar, and a microbrewery museum.
Change of location: In November 2024, the company closed its original Pike Pub and Pike Fish Bar locations near the market, marking the end of an era. However, the company continues its brewing operations and maintains a presence in the city.
The Microbrewery Museum: The historic location featured a museum curated by Charles Finkel that showcased over 9,000 years of brewing history with thousands of authentic artifacts.
Current location
Pike Taproom Summit: Located at 1008 Pine Street in the Seattle Convention Center, this taproom remains open and serves Pike’s flagship beers.
Popular beers
Kilt Lifter: A ruby-colored, Scotch-style ale known for its malty character.
Space Needle IPA: A West Coast-style IPA with notes of citrus and pine.
Naughty Nellie: A mild golden ale with fruity flavors.
Post Alley Pils: A clean, crisp pilsner.
Uptown Hazy IPA: A hazy, juicy India Pale Ale.
Ol’ Crimson Legendary Lager: A lager that is part of the brewery’s flagship lineup.
