Today I’ve got an exciting new addition to what I like to call the “Apple Beer Club”, and this one is coming straight out of one of the Midwest’s most exciting craft beer cities, Columbus, Ohio. If you’ve been following the rise of apple-flavored beer, fruit-infused craft beer, and low-calorie sessionable brews, this is one you’re going to want to pay very close attention to.

You’ve already heard the buzz around names like Bapple and Kapple, two standout entries in the growing world of light apple beer and fruit-forward craft beer innovation. Now, it’s time to officially welcome the next contender into the mix, what I’m calling “Gapple.”

Meet Gapple: Garage Beer Apple Beer

Introducing Garage Beer Apple Beer, a fresh small batch craft beer release from Garage Beer in Columbus, Ohio. This release lands squarely in the sweet spot between light beer drinkability, crisp apple flavor, and modern low-calorie brewing innovation.

Garage Beer is quickly gaining attention for producing easy-drinking, highly sessionable beers designed for today’s drinkers, people who want great taste, refreshing flavor, and lighter nutritional profiles without sacrificing quality.

With Gapple, they’re stepping directly into the fast-growing category of apple beer, fruit-infused lager alternatives, and better-for-you alcoholic beverages.

The Numbers: Light, Crisp, and Built for Sessions

One of the biggest reasons Garage Beer Apple Beer stands out is the balance it strikes between flavor, drinkability, and health-conscious stats. Here’s what you’re working with:

  • Alcohol by Volume (ABV): 4% — ideal for long sessions, social drinking, and easy sipping
  • Calories: 95 per 12 oz serving — squarely in line with the best low-calorie beers on the market
  • Carbohydrates: 3g per 12 oz — appealing for anyone seeking low-carb beer options
  • Format: 12 oz can — classic, portable, and perfect for any occasion (Packaged by Founders Brewing in Grand Rapids, Michigan)

This puts Gapple directly in competition with some of the most sought-out categories in beer today, including:

  • light beer under 100 calories
  • low carb craft beer
  • sessionable fruit beer
  • easy drinking summer beer

Apple Beer Done Right: Where Craft Beer Meets Crisp Fruit Flavor

The rise of apple beer reflects a major shift in what people are looking for in their beverages. Drinkers are actively gravitating toward options that deliver:

  • A clean, crisp taste profile
  • Subtle fruit infusion without overwhelming sweetness
  • A refreshing alternative to both traditional beer and hard cider

Garage Beer Apple Beer is poised to sit right at that intersection. Expect a profile that leans into:

  • Bright fresh apple notes
  • A light malt backbone that keeps it grounded as a true beer
  • A smooth, refreshing finish built for repeat sipping

This makes Gapple a strong candidate for fans of:

  • hard cider alternatives
  • fruit-flavored light beer
  • crisp refreshing beers for warm weather
  • easy-drinking craft beer with flavor

Built for Everyday Drinking and Summer Sessions

Everything about this release signals ultimate drinkability. From its lower ABV to its controlled calorie count, Gapple is designed to be a true session beer, the kind you can bring to:

  • Backyard barbecues
  • Beach days and lake trips
  • Tailgates and sporting events
  • Casual nights with friends

The 12 oz can format reinforces that approachable, everyday vibe, making it ideal for anyone seeking:

  • best canned craft beer options
  • portable light beer for travel
  • fridge-stock essentials

Columbus, Ohio: A Growing Craft Beer Powerhouse

It’s also worth highlighting that this release comes from Columbus, Ohio, a city that continues to rise in prominence in the American craft beer scene. Breweries in this region are becoming known for their focus on:

  • Innovation in flavor profiles
  • Approachable, modern beer styles
  • High-quality, small batch production

Garage Beer is contributing to that reputation with releases like this, beers that are not only drinkable, but also aligned with current consumer trends toward lighter, cleaner, more refreshing options.

What to Watch Next: Release Info & Tasting Breakdown

Right now, this is an early look at what could become a standout in the apple beer category, and there’s more to come. Keep an eye out for:

  • Official release date announcements
  • Expanded availability and distribution updates
  • Full tasting notes and flavor breakdowns
  • Early reactions and reviews from the craft beer community

Final Take: Why Gapple Deserves Your Attention

If you’re keeping up with the evolution of:

  • fruit-infused craft beer
  • low calorie beer innovation
  • sessionable alcohol trends
  • apple-forward beverage styles

Then Garage Beer Apple Beer (Gapple) is absolutely one to watch.

This release checks all the boxes:

  • Light and approachable
  • Flavor-forward yet refreshing
  • Built for repeat drinking
  • Backed by a rising craft brewery

There’s real potential here for Gapple to become a go-to choice in the apple beer space, especially for drinkers looking for something that blends crisp fruit character with classic beer drinkability.

Stay tuned, because once release details and full tasting notes land, this could very quickly move from a new discovery to a must-have staple in the world of modern craft beer.

Label Text Garage Beer Apple Beer:

“Here’s to bringing a little orchard energy into the garage. Garage Beer Apple is light and refreshing, with a crisp hint of apple that hits just right. The garage is always open, come have a couple.”

Garage Beer is a fast-growing light beer brand that is headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. While it was originally developed by Braxton Brewing in Kentucky, it spun off as an independent company in 2023 and is now famously co-owned by NFL stars Jason and Travis Kelce.

Key Brand Details

  • Headquarters: 1610 Oak Street, Columbus, OH 43205.
  • The Beer: Marketed as “Beer-Flavored Beer,” it is a small-batch brewed light lager with 4% ABV, 95 calories, and 3g of carbs. It comes in two varieties: Classic and Lime.
  • The “Kelce Effect”: The Kelce brothers acquired a majority stake in June 2024, helping the brand achieve massive national visibility and a recent valuation of roughly $200 million.

Where to Find it in Columbus

Unlike traditional craft breweries, Garage Beer does not currently operate its own public taproom at its Columbus headquarters. Instead, you can find it at:

  • Lower.com Field: Sold throughout the season at Columbus Crew games, specifically in the N.E. concourse.
  • Local Bars & Grills: Served at popular spots like Hey Hey Bar & Grill and Gateway Film Center.
  • Retailers: Widely available at major Columbus retailers like Kroger and Walmart.
