Tröegs and PSPCA launch “PALs With Your Pal” Pet Adoption Program
Tröegs Independent Brewing is putting a new meaning behind the phrase “grab a beer with your pal” this fall. The Hershey, Pennsylvania brewery is teaming up with the Pennsylvania SPCA for PALs with Your Pal, a two-month initiative designed to shine a spotlight on adoptable pets looking for forever homes.
Why Support Tröegs Independent Brewing’s Adoption Initiative
Throughout September and October, Tröegs will feature an adoptable pet each week while covering the up-front adoption costs for that featured animal. The program combines Tröegs’ popular Pennsylvania Lager with an important message about pet adoption, giving potential pet owners another reason to visit the brewery’s website and learn more about animals in need.
The partnership also builds on Tröegs’ long-standing support for dog rescues while connecting its Pennsylvania Lager brand with a worthwhile community effort. For beer fans, animal lovers and anyone considering adding a four-legged member to the family, PALs with Your Pal offers an opportunity to enjoy a local lager while helping a shelter pet get a second chance.
Here is the official announcement from Tröegs Independent Brewing:
Hershey, PA – Tröegs Independent Brewing announces the launch of “PALs with your Pal,” a partnership with the Pennsylvania SPCA (PSPCA) established to help raise awareness for pet adoption.
Each week throughout the months of September and October, the independent, family-owned brewery will feature an adoptable pet in need of rescue. To attract potential pet owners, Tröegs will cover the up-front costs associated with the adoption of each featured pet.
“Our family has been a big supporter of dog rescues for many years,” says Tröegs brewmaster and co-founding brother John Trogner. “The goal is to help the PSPCA find homes for some of its sweetest dogs who just need a second chance.”

The program takes its name from the Hershey, PA-based brewery’s latest year-round offering, Pennsylvania Lager aka PA Lager.
Inspired by the universal appeal of easy-drinking lagers brewed during the pre-Prohibition era, Pennsylvania Lager is a crisp, thirst-quenching beer that promises to deliver a smile with every sip. Since its release last year, the 5% ABV lager has grown to become the brewery’s second best-selling beer behind Perpetual IPA.
“It’s the ideal beer to enjoy while sitting on the porch and spending some quality time with your pal,” adds Trogner.
Pennsylvania Lager is available on draft and in 16-oz. cans and 12-oz. bottles across Tröegs’ entire distribution footprint. Beer drinkers can locate it near them using the Tröegs Brew Finder.
“Animals come into our shelter every day looking for a fresh start,” says Gillian Kocher, PSPCA’s Director of Public Relations. “Since Pennsylvania has one of the largest adoption rates in the country, we’re grateful for Tröegs’ support in helping some of our loveable pets find their forever homes.”
Follow Tröegs on Instagram and Facebook or visit the PSPCA website for weekly profiles of each adoptable pet.
