Cartridge Brewing – Experimentals and More in Cans

Maineville, OH—Now the brewing team at Cartridge is hitting their stride. With a continuous lineup of 20 varieties on tap, including a strong showing of lagers, summer ales and IPAs, the creativity is kicking in. May saw two single-barrel experimental beers hit the brewpub – hibiscus-strawberry ale, mango-apricot IPA – both of which were gone within a matter of days. Guests can expect to see these small-batch releases weekly throughout the summer, including a Blackberry-Blueberry Blonde Ale June 6.

“I love the fact that we have the capacity and creativity to experiment with some of our flagship varieties – and that they’re already really popular,” says Adam Mills, head brewer. “What we’re doing with the variants right now is unique, messing around with different fruits … it fills a good niche in the flavor palette of our beers.”

The brewery’s German influence is also showing, with the recent release of a Rauchbier-inspired smoked golden lager (Smoke Stack) plus a schwarzbier (Covert) coming soon.

Busiest of all has been the team’s canning line – the brewery’s best-selling Mexican-style lager Cartucho was 4-packed in time for Memorial Day weekend, along with another run of the popular Primer Classic American Pils. These two joined Up the Hill Munich Helles and Radar Dark American Ale as grab-and-go cans from the bar. As always, these are limited can runs, so availability will change.
