Shiner 102–Double Wheat Anniversary Ale

Spoetzel Brewery in Shiner Tx releases an anniversary beer every year, designated by their anniversary year.  I was lucky enough to try the 100 a few years ago and it was very tasty.  This year they are releasing Shiner 102 Double Wheat.  The keg packaging was approved a few days ago and here’s the 12oz 6.2% ABV packaging.  This is a “special recipe that sits between a bright wheat beer and wheat wine ale.”  This will be a slightly sweet filtered wheat using Czech Saaz and Washington state Golding hops so it should be interesting.  Look for the bottle release to come in Feb 2011.
