Scratch #550 IPA: Tröegs and HAAS Hops Team Up for The 2026 Craft Brewers Conference
This morning, I’ve got an exciting new milestone beer coming to the celebrated Scratch Series from Tröegs Independent Brewing in Hershey, Pennsylvania. This release marks a major moment for the brewery: Scratch #550 IPA, a collaborative project brewed in partnership with HAAS Hops for the upcoming 2026 Craft Brewers Conference in Philadelphia.
Scratch #550 IPA will showcase cutting‑edge hop innovation, featuring Mosaic Prysma hop‑derived extract added both during the whirlpool and again post‑fermentation. This dual‑stage approach is designed to amplify Mosaic’s signature notes, bright citrus, tropical fruit, and layered resin, while giving the beer a modern, expressive hop profile.
To support that hop character, the IPA is built on a clean, balanced malt bill of Pilsner malt, Vienna malt, and wheat malt, offering a crisp backbone with subtle sweetness and a smooth mouthfeel.
The beer will be packaged in 16‑oz cans as part of the limited‑release Scratch Series lineup, giving fans a chance to experience a forward‑thinking IPA crafted specifically for one of the biggest events in the craft beer world.
Stay tuned for full release details, distribution information, and tasting notes as Tröegs prepares to roll out this special collaboration ahead of the 2026 Craft Brewers Conference.

Family-owned. Independently crafted.
In the past 25 years, Tröegs has grown from two brothers to 250 people, but we’re still very much a family business. Because we stay true to our core values of independence and family ownership, we’ve kept the small-brewery DNA we all hold dear.
Perpetual exploration
Our small-batch Scratch Series and 3-barrel Scratch Lab are where we do the work needed to understand the “why” at the intersection of ingredients, technique and flavor.
Local ingredients
We live and brew in fertile central PA, and we’re proud to support our local farmers. Every year, we buy more than 225,000 pounds of local grain, honey and fruit to use in our beer.
Community
From bike rides that fund local trails to new beers that help preserve critical forests, our partnerships improve the places where we live, work and play.
