New Survey Shows Nearly 1 in 4 Beer Drinkers are IPA Lovers

PETALUMA, CA  AUGUST 02, 2022 –  recent national survey commissioned by The Lagunitas Brewing Company, conducted online by The Harris Poll among more than 1,000 US beer drinkers ages 21+, shows that nearly 1 in 4 beer drinkers age 21+ (23%) consider themselves an IPA Lover. IT’S OFFICIALLY LAGUNITAS IPA DAY

Mayor Teresa Barrett of Petaluma where the craft brewer is headquartered, is proclaiming the first Thursday of August as Lagunitas IPA Day. She’ll hold a toast at 4:20 p.m. on August 4 at the Lagunitas Petaluma TapRoom & Beer Sanctuary. Customers are also invited to come enjoy special TapRoom-only IPA Day brews.

While more than one in three beer drinkers age 21+ (36%) know that IPA stands for India Pale Ale, one in 20 (5%) think it means International Puppy Appreciation. Lagunitas embraces both meanings and extends the TapRoom celebration invitation to IPA fans and their four-legged companions.
