Mybeerbuzz.com Highlights Victory Vital IPA

Of course a few weeks later I came across a fresh case of Victory Vital IPA 12oz cans, and of course I bought it….and of course we really enjoyed it.
Jump forward to today, and I’m excited to get a chance to sample the new 12oz bottles. Victory is releasing this new package in six and twelve packs with a new social media campaign to celebrate the spirit of “Vital.” The campaign is called #VitalToWhereYouAre and they are asking fans to send in photos of themselves enjoying a Vital IPA. (details are here).
Vital IPA is available year round and it uses an interesting combination of a pilsner malt base and a dry-hopping with American hops. Vital IPA also uses a Kolsch yeast strain in a way that is not utilized in a similar fashion by any other craft brewery…and the results speak for themselves (actuall I’ll be speaking about the results).
Vital IPA pours a rich golden color with lots of resinous and piney aromas up front….and perhaps a bit of peach in the nose. I tasted tropical fruit and subtle peach flavors that were well balanced by the American Simcoe, Chinook and Citra hops. Vital IPA strikes a nice line between the piney and grapefruit-y hop characters I like and it finishes crisp and clean. Overall Vital IPA is a bright and really drinkable IPA and at 6.5%-AbV I suspect it will find it’s way into your beach cooler as well as your home ‘fridge.
Be sure to try Victory Vital IPA for yourself and be sure to check out the #VitalToWhereYouAre contest. Send your photos to Victory, but be sure to let us know what YOU think of the beer.
