Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights BōnDry Hydration Bladder Dryer (Review)

If you’ve read my previous reviews, then you’ll already know that I spend a lot of time traveling and hiking. I’ve covered a lot of miles on the trails of national and state parks, and whether the climate is chilly mountains or hot desert, the most important item in your pack is water. For many years I simply packed a water bottle, but with the invention of hydration bladders, I now carry a 2.5-liter bladder in my day pack, and an even larger bladder in my larger backpacks.

Anyone that regularly uses a water bladder knows that they are easy to fill, easy to carry and easy to use to stay hydrated. What any active hydration bladder user also knows, is that they are NOT easy to clean and dry. Over the years we’ve collected the tools necessary to do a proper cleaning of our hydration bladders, but we’ve never been able to easily or quickly dry them….until now. This is where the BōnDry Hydration Bladder Dryer comes in and today I’m anxious to try one out.

If you’re not familiar, the BōnDry Hydration Bladder Dryer is from a company called Fossil Outdoors and it is specifically built to help dry hydration bladders. Without towels, long waits or putting your bladder in the freezer, BōnDry makes drying easy and quick.

BōnDry Hydration Bladder Dryer:

  • Works on most bladders and insulated water bottles

  • Absorbs Moisture Quickly

  • Moisture Transport Technology

  • Leaves bladder fresh and dry

  • Removes moisture that can cause germs

  • Reusable

  • Sustainably Sourced

  • Made in the USA

As BōnDry puts it, “All our products are made through the most environmental responsible methods possible. Our Drying Products are made from sustainably sourced plants and recycled plastic bottles! Not only does BōnDry make hydration gear maintenance easier, but it cuts down on waste! BōnDry is reusable and machine washable. By using a BōnDry you increase the usable life of your hydration bladder which decreases wasted polyurethane. That is a big win for the environment!”

Of course I can’t wait to try it, so off we go…

Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights BōnDry Hydration Bladder Dryer (Review)

I’ll start today’s testing with my recently used Osprey 2.5-liter hydration bladder. I cleaned the bladder as I normally do, but this time, I’ll be using the BōnDry to dry it. The BōnDry itself, is designed to easily slide into your hydration bladder where it quickly absorbs water and moisture. The BōnDry is 3.5-inches wide by 17.5-inches long so it fits easily into any hydration bladder including those like mine that have baffles and chambers. BōnDry does make a specific dual-chamber product called WishBōn as well if you’re using a dual-chamber hydration bladder and they even claim you can cut your BōnDry to fit your specific application.

The BōnDry is slightly rigid, but flexible and absorbent making it hassle-free to dry out your hydration bladder. The material is also colored black making it easy to see when you’ve reached the bottom of the bladder. The BōnDry is long enough to extend out of the open hydration bladder which allows the moisture to wick out and evaporate into the air. I didn’t time how long it took to dry, but I can say it was much faster than any of the previous methods I used like cloth or paper towels. I should also mention that you can visibly see the BōnDry quickly absorbing any water in the bladder.

The BōnDry is also machine washable and BōnDry recommends storing it in a location with lower humidity so it will absorb water even faster when in use.

I tested BōnDry on several different style hydration bladders including Osprey and CamelBak and it was equally effective on all of them. The drying times were much quicker than my previous methods and the BōnDry was easy to maintain and store. Overall I think this is a really useful product for anyone that actively uses a hydration bladder for hiking, running or even cycling and I’m excited to add it to my hydration bladder tools.

Be sure to try out BōnDry for yourself, and when you do try it, be sure to let us know what YOU think.  zzubreebym
