Miller Lite Working On 7.5-oz Cans
Check out this interesting new release from Molson Coors and Miller!
You’re looking at the classic Miller Lite, but in a new 7.5‑oz can format. While Miller Lite has long been available in 7.5‑oz bottles and 8‑oz cans, this specific 7.5‑oz can appears to be a fresh addition to the brand’s packaging lineup.
The beer itself remains the crisp, easy‑drinking pilsner lager fans know—coming in at a sessionable 4.2% ABV. Stay tuned for more details on the full packaging lineup and official release information as it becomes available.
Label Text Miller Lite:
“Inside is a fine pilsner beer, brewed with the highest quality ingredients. We use choice hops from the Pacific Northwest as well as noble Saaz hops and deliver more taste, aroma and color with only 60 calories per 7.5 oz.”
About Molson Coors & Miller:
Miller Brewing Company, founded in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1855 by Friedrich Miller, is known for iconic beers like Miller High Life and pioneering the development of light beer with Miller Lite. After being sold to South African Breweries and becoming SABMiller, it was later combined with Molson Coors to form MillerCoors in 2007. In 2016, Molson Coors acquired full ownership of the Miller brand portfolio.
Founding and early history: Friedrich Miller immigrated from Germany in 1851 and purchased the Plank Road Brewery in Milwaukee in 1855, bringing his own yeast to start the company.
Major innovations: Miller Brewing pioneered the low-calorie beer market with Miller Lite, launched in 1975, which became a massive success and changed the industry. The company also introduced Miller High Life in 1903, which is still known as “The Champagne of Beers”.
Corporate structure: In 2002, Miller was sold to South African Breweries, forming SABMiller. In 2007, SABMiller and Molson Coors Brewing Company formed a joint venture called MillerCoors. In 2016, Molson Coors gained full ownership of the Miller brand portfolio after buying out SABMiller’s stake.
Current status: The Miller brand is now part of Molson Coors, but the original Milwaukee brewery remains the flagship facility and a tourist attraction.
