This morning, I’m excited to bring you an early look at a brand‑new 2026 release coming from the Guinness Open Gate Brewery in Baltimore, Maryland, a brewery that continues to push boundaries while honoring centuries of Guinness brewing tradition. This latest release is called Nightburst, and it arrives as a vibrant, fruit‑forward ale brewed to celebrate 267 years of Guinness brewing creativity and 250 years of American independence. It’s a dual‑anniversary beer with a modern twist, crafted specifically for the U.S. market through Guinness’ experimental American brewhouse.

Nightburst is an ale brewed with raspberry, lime, and cherry, delivering a bright, refreshing, fruit‑driven profile that stands apart from the classic stout identity Guinness is known for. At a sessionable 5.5% ABV, Nightburst is designed to be approachable, flavorful, and perfect for warm‑weather drinking, yet still layered enough to carry the signature Guinness craftsmanship that fans expect from the Open Gate Brewery lineup.

The combination of raspberry, lime, and cherry suggests a lively balance of tartness, citrus brightness, and juicy red‑fruit sweetness. It’s the kind of flavor profile that fits perfectly into the growing trend of fruited ales, sessionable craft releases, and summer‑ready beers that still offer depth and character. Guinness has been steadily expanding its American‑brewed portfolio with fruit‑accented ales, IPAs, and experimental offerings, and Nightburst looks poised to become one of the standout releases of the 2026 season.

The packaging preview shows the 16‑oz can, continuing Guinness Open Gate Brewery’s commitment to modern, eye‑catching can designs that differentiate their Baltimore‑brewed beers from the traditional Guinness stout lineup. These U.S.‑exclusive releases have become a major part of Guinness’ strategy to connect with American craft beer drinkers, and Nightburst fits squarely into that mission, bold, colorful, fruit-forward, and unmistakably crafted for the American palate.

Nightburst also carries symbolic weight: 267 years of Guinness brewing history paired with 250 years of American independence. It’s a celebration of heritage, innovation, and the long‑standing connection between Guinness and American beer culture. The Open Gate Brewery continues to serve as the creative engine behind these special releases, blending centuries‑old brewing expertise with modern American craft trends.

As always, official release timing, distribution details, and full tasting notes will follow as Guinness prepares to roll out Nightburst nationwide. But for now, consider this your first official preview of what promises to be one of the most exciting, fruit‑forward, sessionable Guinness releases of 2026.

Stay tuned for more updates from Guinness Open Gate Brewery, including additional 2026 packaging reveals, seasonal releases, and tasting‑note breakdowns as they become available.

Guinness Open Gate Brewery Nightburst Label Text:

“267 years of brewing creativity meets 250 years of American independence. Bursting with notes of raspberry, lime, and cherry, this beer is best enjoyed on hot summer nights beneath the fireworks.”

Although Arthur Guinness started brewing beer in Dublin, Ireland in 1759, brewing in other countries has long been a part of our story. We opened our first brewery outside of Ireland in London way back in 1936, and currently brew in nearly 50 countries around the world. While Ireland will always be our home, the beer industry here in the States is arguably the most dynamic and exciting in the world right now, and, put simply, we love being a part of it. This is our opportunity to show that we are more than just a single beer – we’re a brewery, capable of producing some of the most unique, innovative, and high-quality beer in the world. Our story is more than 260 years long – welcome to the newest chapter.

The Guinness Open Gate Brewery (or OGB for short) is the innovative and experimental arm of one of the world’s most beloved breweries. The original location was opened to the public in 2015, on the Dublin site that had been home to Guinness’s Product Research Unit, which was founded in 1904. In 2018, the first U.S. location was launched in Baltimore, MD, becoming the first stateside Guinness brewery in more than 60 years. The OGB focuses on creating new and innovative beers, serving unique and global cuisine alongside those beers, and highlighting the spirit of community, inclusivity, and hospitality that are the hallmarks of the Guinness brand.

LOOK OUT, CHICAGO.
The Guinness Open Gate Brewery Chicago features a Taproom, Restaurant, and the first-ever Guinness Bakery, all located right in the heart of Chicago’s West Loop. Come indulge both your curiosity and your taste buds while experimenting with a new world of flavor.

This is far from Guinness as usual. With more than 250 years of brewing experience, we’ve honed our craft, almost down to a science. But brewing is so much more than science; it’s where creativity and passion collide.
