CAMUS’ Mastery for the Paris Opera

The Camus Maison de Cognac supported the AROP – Association pour le Rayonnement de l’Opéra de Paris (Association for the Influence of the Paris Opera)  by participating in a charity event organized by Sotheby’s:   zzubreebym

"AUCTION FOR ACTION, BID FOR CREATION!"

The auction took place on January 30th, 2023, and raised more than 1,2 million euros for the institution’s projects. Other icons of luxury such as Chaumet, Chanel, Rolex,… but also artists such as Christo, Anselm Kiefer, or Hiroshi Sugimoto were part of this event.
This auction supports three fundamental values that Camus shares with Sotheby’s and the AROP:

Now, more than ever, creating is a requirement for reaching out to all audiences by proposing masterpieces that mirror the problems of communities and the diversity of persons creating them. To share Camus’ vision of Creativity & Mastery, Les Ateliers Camus decided to donate a unique piece of craftsmanship: The Cognac Symphony which was sold at 17 000 euros.

At Camus, Cognac is a symphony that requires mastery and creativity. Deeply inspired by three famous Maestros: Vivaldi, Mozart, Verdi, and their organ works, Camus’ Cellar Master, Julie Landreau, has created these Cognacs, directly addressing our senses in a kind of organoleptic concert.
The Cognacs :

VIVALDI – PETITE CHAMPAGNE 48 YEAR OLD

Both gourmand and expressive, this Cognac reveals notes of white grapes as well as subtle and refined floral notes. Its freshness evolves on notes of pear and apricot sprinkled with caramel and cinnamon. This Petite Champagne expresses the perfect balance between fruit, spices, and woody notes. The finish oscillates between dried fruit and exotic fruit scents.

MOZART – FINS BOIS 25 YEAR OLD

Fresh and elegant, this Cognac presents beautiful aromas of white fruits. Its subtle notes of vanilla and coconut make it an exceptional Cognac. On the palate, the attack is lively and precise. The notes of pears in syrup evolve into aromas of ripe fruit, dried fruit, and oak. The finish is dominated by citrus fruits and evolves on fruit notes such as white peach.

VERDI – BORDERIES 33 YEAR OLD

This Cognac reveals an exceptional personality with an affirmed complexity. On the nose, fresh notes precede an explosion of spices and fruits. On the palate, subtle notes of plum and mango mingle with the power of vanilla. The finish is long and ends with aromas of spices and exotic woods.

The Sculpture
Les Ateliers Camus joined forces with Fontes de Mars to create an exclusive masterpiece to magnify these rare Cognacs. The organ-shaped display case is made from pewter and staves from barrels that have contained CAMUS Cognacs. Between the pewter keyboard and the metal and oak pipes of the organ are the bottles of these unique Cognacs engraved with the scores of Vivaldi’s Organ Concerto No. 8 in A minor, Op. 3 (1st movement, allegro), Mozart’s Fantasy in F minor for mechanical organ (K. 608), and Verdi’s Overture to "La forza del destino".

Art meets Mixology

During this unique event, Camus brought the Creativity and the Mastery of Cyril Cioli, who created a unique cocktail for the Gala night. Cyril Cioli inspired by Camus’ uniqueness created a passionate cocktail that combines the excellency of the Camus XO Prestige Decanter with a touch of exotism and gourmandise.
