Burial Beer Co. and Coven Brewing Announce Two New Collaboration Releases: Imperial Stout and IPA
This morning, I’ve got your first look at two new collaboration beers coming soon from Burial Beer Co. in Asheville, North Carolina, and both releases showcase the brewery’s signature blend of intensity, creativity, and darkly poetic naming. These limited offerings are brewed in partnership with Coven Brewing out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, making this a standout cross‑state collaboration for craft beer fans.
The first release is The Burden Of Myopic Dreams And Sullen Ways So Undeniable, an imperial stout brewed with almond, Madagascar vanilla, and raspberry. This decadent, dessert‑leaning stout will hit a massive 14% ABV and will be packaged in 16.9‑oz bottles. Expect rich layers of fruit, nutty sweetness, and vanilla depth wrapped in Burial’s signature high‑gravity stout profile.
The second collaboration beer is A Rather Reckless Confluence Of Yinz, Yuns & Y’All, an India Pale Ale that will clock in at 6.3% ABV. This IPA leans into bright hop character and regional personality, blending Burial’s expressive IPA style with Coven’s Pittsburgh‑born approach to modern hop profiles. It will arrive in 16‑oz cans, making it a more sessionable counterpart to the massive imperial stout.
Both beers highlight the creative synergy between Burial Beer Co. and Coven Brewing, offering fans a mix of bold stout decadence and hop‑forward drinkability.
Stay tuned for full release details, distribution updates, and availability as these collaboration beers get closer to launch.
Label text Burial Beer A Rather Reckless Confluence Of Yinz, Yuns & Y’All:
“A collision of dialects across time lies in the utterance of a flag painted in stubborn ground. Yinz from the iron-veined valleys. Yuns from the Carolina soil. Y’all from the leatherwoman holler. Wild from the mist. Coven Brewing. Burial Beer Co. binding together in light and unapologetically human. Just firing the cauldron. Doubling down. Liquid. El Dorado. Lupulin. Strata. Hyperboost. Cryo. Strata. Dry-hopped with Mosaic.”
About Burial Beer:
The products and experiences that we dream up for you are meant to enhance connection and stimulate thought. This life isn’t long – so you can be damn sure we’ll make our time count.
Burial Beer Co. was dreamt up in Seattle by friends Tim Gormley and Doug and Jess Reiser. The three dove deep into the craft beer scene during their time in the PNW, which ultimately led to the decision to open their own brewery.
The name Burial and the brand that the company embodies was deeply inspired by the city of New Orleans, where Doug and Jess had lived prior to their time in Seattle. In NOLA, there’s a strong culture of celebrating life. Funeral processions become large parades with instruments, singing, and dancing. Everybody stops and joins in, even if they don’t know the deceased. We view our products, places, and experiences through this very lens, celebrating life’s fleeting moments with mindfulness and introspection.
The search for the perfect location ended when they found Asheville, NC. The three moved across the country in 2012, found an old transmission shop that would eventually become the original brewery and taproom, and opened their doors to the public in 2013 with a 1-barrel system in AVL’s South Slope District.
