Budweiser 2026 Super Bowl Commemorative Cans Honor Iconic Ads
Today I have your first peek at a new series of Budweiser commemorative cans arriving in 2026, and this collection should get the attention of both beer fans and Budweiser packaging collectors. The beer inside remains the classic Budweiser Lager Beer, but the cans are getting a major dose of Super Bowl nostalgia.
The new Budweiser 2026 Super Bowl commemorative cans celebrate some of the brand’s most recognizable Super Bowl advertising moments. The three designs shown here spotlight “Puppy Love,” “American Icons” and “Football,” connecting Budweiser’s current 150th-anniversary celebration with memorable chapters from the brand’s long history of Super Bowl advertising.
The first can celebrates “Puppy Love,” the 2014 Super Bowl commercial, featuring the unforgettable relationship between a Budweiser Clydesdale and an adorable puppy. The second design features “American Icons,” the 2026 Super Bowl LX commercial, which paired a Clydesdale with an American bald eagle as Budweiser celebrated its 150th anniversary and America’s 250th birthday. The third design reaches even farther back, commemorating the 1996 Super Bowl commercial titled “Football.” Budweiser’s 2026 Super Bowl advertising collection therefore reaches across three decades of NFL history.
Each of the new limited-edition Budweiser cans is 12 fluid ounces, with the familiar Budweiser branding remaining front and center. The packaging prominently features the words “Limited Edition,” “Budweiser,” “King of Beers” and “Made of America Since 1876.” Rather than changing the beer itself, Budweiser is using the package to tell a story about the brand’s advertising history.
The 2026 collection is particularly interesting because “American Icons” is not simply an old commercial being revisited. The campaign was created specifically for Super Bowl LX and celebrated Budweiser’s 150th anniversary. The commercial featured the Budweiser Clydesdales and an American bald eagle and became part of the brand’s broader 150th-anniversary celebration.
And judging from these first three packages, Budweiser may have plenty more Super Bowl commemorative cans coming. With decades of memorable Budweiser Super Bowl commercials to draw from, the potential collection could become considerably larger. For collectors, that makes these first three designs particularly interesting because they establish a visual history of Budweiser advertising through collectible beer cans.
The Budweiser 2026 Super Bowl commemorative cans also fit perfectly into the company’s larger 2026 packaging strategy. Budweiser has already released anniversary packaging, vintage-inspired baseball cans and other limited-edition designs as part of its 150th-anniversary celebration.
For now, these are the first three designs I have: 2014 “Puppy Love,” 2026 “American Icons” and 1996 “Football.” Stay tuned for additional Budweiser Super Bowl commemorative cans, more packaging images and release details as they become available.

mybeerbuzz.com has been following Budweiser’s collectible packaging for years, and these new Super Bowl designs fit nicely alongside our coverage of the Budweiser 150 Club and vintage-inspired MLB team cans, the Budweiser Phillies and FIFA World Cup commemorative cans, the Budweiser 150th Anniversary packaging and even past limited-edition Budweiser cans celebrating Nelly. If you’re a Budweiser collector, those stories provide a pretty good look at just how extensive the brand’s collectible-can history has become.
About Budweiser and Anheuser-Busch:
Budweiser is one of America’s most recognizable beer brands and has been a cornerstone of Anheuser-Busch brewing history since its introduction in 1876. Created by Adolphus Busch with the ambition of producing a beer that could transcend regional preferences, Budweiser developed into one of the world’s most recognizable American-style lagers. Today, the brand remains deeply associated with American beer culture, sports, advertising, entertainment and major national celebrations.
Budweiser’s brewing heritage is built around a traditional recipe and brewing methods that have remained central to the brand for generations. The beer is known for its crisp, clean and balanced character, while traditional techniques including kraeusening and Beechwood aging contribute to the distinctive Budweiser brewing profile. Anheuser-Busch describes Budweiser as a medium-bodied American-style lager with premium hop aromas and a balance between flavor and refreshment.
Few beer brands have developed such a recognizable connection between beer packaging and popular culture. Budweiser has repeatedly used limited-edition cans, bottles and specialty packaging to commemorate sporting events, holidays, anniversaries, entertainment partnerships and major advertising campaigns. That tradition makes the 2026 Super Bowl commemorative cans a natural extension of the Budweiser brand.
The year 2026 is especially significant for Budweiser because the brand is celebrating its 150th anniversary. The milestone has already produced an extensive collection of special packaging and marketing programs, including anniversary cans, Major League Baseball team cans and the Super Bowl LX “American Icons” campaign.
The Budweiser Clydesdales remain one of the company’s most recognizable symbols. First introduced to Budweiser advertising in the early 1930s, the horses have appeared in numerous memorable commercials and have become an enduring part of American beer advertising. The Clydesdales returned for the 2026 Super Bowl in “American Icons,” marking the horses’ 48th national Super Bowl appearance.
Budweiser’s Super Bowl advertising history is particularly important to the brand’s identity. Commercials such as “Puppy Love” from 2014 have become cultural touchstones, while the 1996 “Football” campaign represents an earlier era of Budweiser’s Super Bowl presence. By placing those historic advertisements alongside 2026’s “American Icons,” the new collectible cans effectively turn three generations of Budweiser advertising into a single beer-can collection.
Anheuser-Busch continues to operate Budweiser as one of its flagship American beer brands while expanding the brand’s reach through sports partnerships, collectible packaging, anniversary celebrations and national advertising campaigns. The company’s 2026 programs demonstrate how Budweiser continues to combine its historic brewing identity with modern American sports and entertainment culture.
For Budweiser beer collectors, Super Bowl memorabilia collectors and fans of iconic beer advertising, the 2026 commemorative can series offers another opportunity to collect a piece of Budweiser history. With only three designs revealed here and decades of Super Bowl commercials available to draw upon, this could become one of the more interesting Budweiser collectible packaging series of 2026.
