Blue Point Brewing Cask Ales Festival Returns to Patchogue with 100+ Limited-Release Brews
Blue Point Brewing Cask Ales Festival returns to Patchogue with 100+ limited-release brews
Some beers deserve a little more attention than a quick pour at the bar, and cask ale is one of them. Blue Point Brewing Company’s Cask Ales Festival is coming back to Patchogue, New York, on November 7, 2026, bringing more than 100 casks to the brewery’s Main Street brewpub for an afternoon built around small-batch beer, unusual releases and the kind of variety that can make a beer festival worth the trip. This is the 22nd annual Cask Ales Festival, a long-running Long Island craft beer event that gives drinkers a chance to try beers they might never see on a regular tap list.
A hundred casks is a serious lineup. The appeal here isn’t simply the number of beers available, but the opportunity to explore cask-conditioned and specialty brews from breweries around the country, with each small batch offering its own character and personality. Cask ale has a different feel from the highly carbonated beer many drinkers know, and festivals like this give people room to compare styles, talk with fellow beer fans and discover something unexpected along the way. Blue Point is putting that experience back at the center of its annual Patchogue event.

And there’s music, too. The 2026 Blue Point Cask Ales Festival will include food trucks and live performances from Blink 180 and The 90s Band, with the event continuing indoors after the outdoor festival hours. General admission costs $40 and includes entry, a five-ounce Cask Fest tasting glass and beer samples from more than 100 casks. The first session runs from 2 to 6 p.m., followed by an indoor tasting-room party from 6 to 10 p.m., giving attendees a reason to stick around after the cask pours wrap up.
Blue Point Brewing has deep roots in Patchogue, and the Cask Ales Festival has become one of the brewery’s most recognizable annual traditions, returning at a time when beer drinkers have no shortage of choices but still appreciate the chance to taste something made in a smaller batch. The 2026 event takes place rain or shine, is restricted to guests 21 and older, and will be held at Blue Point Brewpub, 225 West Main Street, Patchogue, New York; here’s the brewery’s official announcement with the event details and ticket information.

Blue Point Brewing Company is a Long Island craft brewery founded in 1998 in Patchogue, New York. Built by Mark Burford and Peter Cotter, the brewery began with a straightforward goal: make fresh, flavorful local beer for Long Island drinkers at a time when independent craft breweries were still relatively uncommon in many parts of the country. Over the years, Blue Point has grown from a hometown brewery into a widely distributed New York beer brand with a portfolio spanning traditional lagers, hop-forward ales, seasonal specialties and experimental releases.
The brewery’s first beer was Toasted Lager, an American amber lager that remains its flagship and one of its most recognizable products. The beer was inspired by the original direct-fire brick kettle used in the brewing process, which helped toast six specialty malts and contributed to the beer’s distinctive malt character. Toasted Lager became closely associated with Blue Point’s identity, earning recognition that includes a gold medal at the World Beer Cup. Its balanced malt profile and approachable character helped establish a following among drinkers looking for a flavorful beer suitable for everyday occasions.
Blue Point Brewing’s wider lineup includes beers such as Hoptical Illusion IPA, Imperial Sunshine, Blueberry Ale, Summer Ale, Oktoberfest and other seasonal or specialty releases. The brewery regularly changes its offerings, giving customers access to familiar year-round favorites alongside limited releases that explore different ingredients and brewing styles. That combination has allowed Blue Point to serve traditional lager drinkers while also reaching customers interested in IPAs, fruit-forward beers, darker styles and new craft beer experiments.
The brewery’s home remains Patchogue, where its Main Street brewing facility and brewpub provide a place for visitors to experience Blue Point beers close to where they are made. The facility opened as part of the company’s expansion, increasing brewing capacity and creating a larger destination for tastings, food, music and community events. Its location on West Main Street also connects the brewery with the wider Patchogue downtown area, where local businesses, restaurants and entertainment venues help make the village a destination for visitors from across Long Island.
One of Blue Point’s best-known traditions is its annual Cask Ales Festival. The event brings together a wide selection of small-batch beers, including specialty cask ales from breweries across the country. For beer enthusiasts, cask beer offers a different way to experience brewing, with traditional cask-conditioned ales generally served at lower carbonation levels than standard draft beer. This can highlight a beer’s texture and malt character while giving brewers room to present distinctive, limited-release recipes. Blue Point’s festival has become a recurring event on the Long Island craft beer calendar, bringing together beer fans, local food vendors and live music.
The 2026 edition marks the 22nd annual Cask Ales Festival and is scheduled for November 7 at the Patchogue brewpub. The event is expected to feature samples from more than 100 casks, along with food trucks and live performances. It reflects the brewery’s continued connection to the local beer community and its willingness to make the brewery itself a gathering place rather than simply a production facility.
Blue Point’s history has also included major changes in ownership and distribution. Anheuser-Busch agreed to acquire the brewery in 2014, and Tilray Brands subsequently acquired Blue Point as part of its 2023 purchase of several beverage brands. Despite these changes, the brewery continues to operate from Patchogue, maintaining a connection to its Long Island roots while benefiting from a broader distribution network.
Today, Blue Point Brewing Company continues to balance its established flagship beers with seasonal innovation and local events. Toasted Lager remains an important part of the brand’s identity, while its rotating lineup and Cask Ales Festival give customers reasons to return and discover something new. The brewery’s combination of local history, recognizable beer styles and community-focused programming has helped keep Blue Point connected to Long Island’s evolving craft beer scene.
