I’m sure I will hear about this headline coming from Anheuser-Busch in St. Louis, Missouri & Goose Island in Chicago, Illinois:

Chicago-based craft brewery’s consistent growth led by its Beer Hug IPA family 


Goose Island Beer Co. is the #1 market share gainer among the Top 10 craft beer brand families, gaining share at a rate more than double that of the next closest competitor (TUS MULC, dollar sales YTD through 11/2/25 vs YA). 
Founded in 1988, Goose Island has been brewing high-quality beer and driving innovation in the craft beer segment for over 35 years and has experienced national growth since partnering with Anheuser-Busch in 2011. 


The craft brewery’s recent growth is led by its Beer Hug IPA family, which is up 18.4% so far in 2025 (TUS MULC, YTD through 10/26/25). First launched in 2022, the Beer Hug family consists of flavor-forward IPAs, including: 
-Tropical Beer Hug Imperial IPA, the top-selling Beer Hug product 


-Big Juicy Beer Hug Imperial IPA, a top 10 craft innovation last year (TUS MULC FY’24) 
-Big Mango Beer Hug Imperial IPA, the #2 craft innovation this year (TUS MULC YTD through 10/26/25)

Every year, Goose Island releases the Bourbon County Brand Stout family on Black Friday to honor their legacy as the creator of the world’s first bourbon barrel-aged stout, which has become one of the most highly anticipated product releases in the beer world that sells out of orders each year. 


This year for the first time, Goose Island is debuting 10-ounce four-pack bottles of Bourbon County Brand Original Stout. The recipe remains unchanged, but the new packaging format reflects a shift in occasion — perfect for side-by-side tastings with the rest of the lineup or for savoring on its own. 


Ahsmann added: “Bourbon County Stout has always generated a lot of enthusiasm, but this year truly exceeded our expectations. We anticipated strong demand, but sales orders far surpassed our initial projections – thanks to our loyal fans and excitement from restaurants and pubs who want to put the new 10oz bottle on their menus.”
