Anchor & Revolution Place Friendly Wager for SF Giants vs. Chicago Cubs National League Division Series

San Francisco, CA (October 10, 2016) – Anchor Brewing in San Francisco, CA and Revolution Brewing in Chicago, IL have agreed to place a friendly wager on the outcome of the MLB’s National League Division Series between the San Francisco Giants and the Chicago Cubs. Sporting orange and black, Anchor Brewing President Matt Davenport challenged Revolution Brewing’s President Josh Deth on Twitter on Friday, October 7. Josh accepted, terms were drawn up, and a tweet-handshake sealed the deal.

The winner will send beer and a jersey of the winning baseball team to the losing brewing, and the loser, wearing said uniform, will serve the winning brewery’s beer in their tasting room. Also, to up the ante, the losing brewmaster will travel to the winning brewery to brew a collaboration beer in honor of the winning team and city. The beer will be available in time for Opening Day 2017.

“Last week we took on Brewery Ommegang from New York in a Wild Card Game wager and the SF Giants were victorious,” said Anchor President Matt Davenport. “Now we’re doubling down and challenging Revolution Brewing to a friendly wager. We’re betting on the Giants’ even year luck and the Cub’s curse. We look forward to sharing our beer with Revolution fans in Chicago!”

Regardless of the outcome of the series, the true winners will be fans of craft beer everywhere, who will get to taste a new collaboration beer from the two breweries regardless of who actually wins the series.
