AleSmith Pale Ale 394 Coming 6/7, The Forge & Decadence 2014 Coming Soon

Join us this Saturday (June 7th) 11am-9pm for the release of our brand new collaboration ale with San Diego legend, Tony Gwynn aka Mr. Padre!!!

San Diego Pale 394 is an extremely drinkable 6% Pale Ale with light bitterness and accentuated hoppiness designed to fill the gap between AleSmith X and AleSmith IPA. San Diego Pale 394 will showcase abundant piney and citrusy hop aroma and flavor from an intense dry-hopping schedule. A balanced malt profile will round out these hoppy flavors with a biscuity finish to enhance drinkability! We’ll have a baseball fastpitch set up out back from 12-6pm, come test your pitching skills and munch on some peanuts and crackerjacks. There will also be a raffle over the length of the event which will include signed shirts and hats by Tony Gwynn, and 2 baseballs signed by both Tony and his son, Tony Jr!

The event will also be your first chance to purchase one of the brand new San Diego Pale 394 t-shirts (multiple styles, men’s & women’s) and brand new 394 baseball pint glasses. The Forge

AleSmith’s newest creation, a Barrel Blended Smoked Dark Ale, will be first released at our good friend Chef Schuyler Schultz’s San Marcos Gastropub "The Bellows."

This dark ale will feature a subtle barrel-aged oakiness with hints of vanilla from a barrel-aging process that lasts a mere 2 weeks. The recipe also utilizes a variety of smoked malts and American Hops to round out the beer’s rich mouthfeel. Enjoy it soon at The Bellows, select accounts, and of course your friendly neighborhood AleSmith Tasting Room.

What? Why? A Wheat Wine?

Yes, a Wheat Wine. This year AleSmith decided to take a fresh crack at this obscure style of beer. First originating in the United States back in the 80’s, the wheat wine combines the best of both worlds (barleywine and wheat ale).

The rich, toffee flavors of a barleywine brewed with the smooth, tropical flavors of an American wheat ale. AleSmith has wanted to develop this relatively unknown beer style for years; fortunately the AleSmith Wheat Wine has finally found a place among our Decadence Series this year.
