For a century and a half, the intersection of American culture, national sports, and legacy brewing has been defined by moments shared over a cold, crisp beverage. As the calendar turns toward mid-August, the sports world’s most romanticized tradition returns to the iconic cornfields of Iowa, drawing millions of fans eager to celebrate the enduring nostalgia and timeless camaraderie of America’s pastime.

To mark this year’s marquee matchup, heritage brewers are finding innovative ways to honor the traditions that keep the game alive. By blending time-honored production methods with authentic elements of modern professional sports, major brands continue to elevate fan engagement, creating immersive experiences that resonate far beyond the final ninth-inning out.

This milestone release bridges the gap between classic brewing history and diamond heritage by incorporating official, game-grade equipment directly into the finishing tanks. Offering limited availability across select regional markets, this unique collector’s item gives baseball enthusiasts a literal taste of the game’s rich history just in time for the summer classic.

Here is the complete press release detailing Budweiser’s special edition release and activation for the 2026 MLB at Field of Dreams Game:

The Official American Beer Sponsor of Major League Baseball and #1 American Classic Lager1 honors the traditions of America’s favorite pastime with a one-of-a-kind brew aged with Marucci beechwood bats

Key Facts:

• To celebrate the 2026 MLB at Field of Dreams Game, Budweiser is introducing Budweiser Beechwood Reserve, a limited-edition brew aged with MLB-authenticated Marucci baseball bats crafted from the same beechwood used in Budweiser’s signature aging process.

• Budweiser Beechwood Reserve will debut to coincide with the MLB at Field of Dreams Game and will be available in limited quantities across Iowa, Minnesota and Pennsylvania.

• As fans gather in Dyersville, Iowa for the MLB at Field of Dreams Game, Budweiser will celebrate the brand’s deep baseball heritage with the Beechwood Brewhouse – a custom fan experience built for the event that pays homage to the limited-time brew and Budweiser’s longstanding baseball legacy.

St. Louis, MO – August 6, 2026 – For 150 years, baseball has been best enjoyed with a Budweiser in hand. As the beer synonymous with America’s favorite national pastime, Budweiser will continue that legacy at the 2026 MLB at Field of Dreams Game presented by John Deere on August 13, honoring the traditions and moments that have made baseball and Budweiser a timeless part of American culture. As the Official American Beer Sponsor of Major League Baseball (MLB), Budweiser will unveil a special brew to mark the game.

To celebrate this historic moment in Dyersville, Iowa, the brand is celebrating its connection to baseball and its 150-year anniversary with Budweiser Beechwood Reserve: a limited-edition brew aged with MLB-authenticated beechwood baseball bats made by Marucci, the Official Bat of MLB. Inspired by, and remaining true to, Budweiser’s signature beechwood aging process, a brewing tradition that has defined the brand for 150 years, Beechwood Reserve infuses the brand’s classic high-quality American lager with the unmistakable spirit of baseball.

Beechwood Reserve is made using Budweiser’s traditional brewing process with one key difference: the usual beechwood chips are supplemented with MLB-authenticated Marucci beechwood bats, crafted from the very same beechwood Budweiser has long used in its brewing process. Budweiser began by sending that beechwood to Marucci, where it was crafted into custom baseball bats before returning to Budweiser’s St. Louis brewery to be incorporated into the aging process. An MLB authenticator was on-site to witness the process and officially authenticate both the bats and the beer. The result: the same classic Budweiser taste, now infused with the spirit of America’s favorite national pastime.

Todd Allen, SVP of Marketing for Budweiser at Anheuser-Busch said: “For an event that celebrates the legacy and nostalgia of America’s favorite national pastime, we wanted to create something that reflected Budweiser’s deep-rooted connection to baseball. Beechwood Reserve builds on Budweiser’s iconic brewing tradition by incorporating authentic Marucci beechwood baseball bats into the finishing process, creating a beer that literally infuses the spirit of the game into every sip. As we celebrate Budweiser’s 150th anniversary and our decades-long relationship with Major League Baseball, there couldn’t be a more fitting time to debut this one-of-a-kind brew than during the MLB at Field of Dreams Game.”

As fans from around the country descend on Dyersville, Iowa for the MLB at Field of Dreams Game, those 21+ will have the opportunity to sample Beechwood Reserve at the “Beechwood Brewhouse,” a custom fan experience built for the event that pays homage to the limited-time brew and Budweiser’s longstanding baseball legacy. On August 13, baseball legend Shane Victorino will make a special appearance at the Beechwood Brewhouse, where he’ll meet fans and help build excitement ahead of the MLB at Field of Dreams Game. The Beechwood Brewhouse will also feature an appearance by the iconic Budweiser Clydesdales, a photo booth that creates a personalized vintage baseball card, special raffles and the Budweiser Mobile Museum, all showcasing Budweiser’s 150-year history and deep ties to baseball.

With its debut coinciding with the MLB at Field of Dreams Game, Budweiser Beechwood Reserve will be available in limited quantities across Iowa, Minnesota and Pennsylvania while supplies last, giving Phillies and Twins fans the opportunity to bring a taste of the MLB at Field of Dreams Game home while cheering on their teams.

Beechwood Reserve and the Beechwood Brewhouse anchor a broader, season-long celebration of Budweiser’s 150th anniversary, inviting 21+ fans to raise a toast to the game that has been part of the brand’s story from the beginning. For over 150 years, the beloved brand has brewed its beer in the U.S., with the help of dedicated farmers, brewers and distributors, to create a great tasting, high-quality beer produced, delivered, and enjoyed by hardworking people.

As Budweiser celebrates its enduring connection to baseball at the MLB at Field of Dreams Game, Anheuser-Busch is also recognizing the farmers who make every Budweiser possible through the recently debuted ‘ComBar’ – a 10-ton, 400 sq. ft. mobile bar engineered from a real combine harvester. Touring the country this summer, including a special stop in Iowa for the MLB at Field of Dreams Game, the first-of-its-kind activation serves as a giant “thank you” to the growers whose dedication helps produce the high-quality ingredients at the heart of Budweiser.

From the barley and rice grown by American farmers to the beechwood-aging process that has defined the brand for generations, Budweiser’s legacy is deeply rooted in American soil. It’s a reminder that Budweiser isn’t only made in America; it’s made of America. Baseball fans can taste Budweiser’s unwavering commitment to quality with every sip, delivering the classic flavor they have known and loved for 150 years.

ABOUT BUDWEISER

Budweiser, an American-style lager, was introduced in 1876 when company founder Adolphus Busch set out to create the United States’ first truly national beer brand – brewed to be universally popular and transcend regional tastes. Each batch of Budweiser stays true to the same family recipe used by five generations of Busch family brewmasters. Budweiser is a medium-bodied, flavorful, crisp and pure beer with blended layers of premium American and European hop aromas, brewed for the perfect balance of flavor and refreshment. Budweiser is made using time-honored methods including “kraeusening” for natural carbonation and Beechwood aging, which results in unparalleled balance and character.

FAQs

1. Why did Budweiser create the Beechwood Reserve?

As the Official American Beer Sponsor of Major League Baseball and the league’s longest-tenured sponsor, we wanted to create a special brew that celebrated our deep connection to the game while honoring Budweiser’s iconic beechwood brewing process. The Field of Dreams game—an event rooted in the history and nostalgia of America’s pastime—was the perfect moment to debut Beechwood Reserve.

2. How was the Beechwood Reserve created?

Budweiser began by sending the same beechwood used in its signature brewing process to Marucci, the Official Bat of MLB, where it was crafted into custom baseball bats. The bats were then returned to Budweiser’s St. Louis brewery, where they were sterilized and incorporated into the brewing process alongside the brand’s traditional beechwood chips during aging. An MLB authenticator was on-site to witness the process and officially authenticate both the bats and the beer. Once brewing was complete, the finished beer was packaged in custom limited-edition cans in preparation for its debut at the Field of Dreams game.

3. Where is the Beechwood Reserve available?

Beechwood Reserve will be available at the Field of Dreams game in Dyersville, Iowa and in limited quantities in Iowa, Minnesota and Pennsylvania while supplies last.
