Heart of Wales “High As A Kite” Wins Best Beer in Wales

A beer brewed at a hotel in Wales’ smallest town of Llanwrtyd Wells has been judged to be the best beer in Wales at the Great Welsh Beer & Cider in Cardiff this afternoon. High as A Kite, brewed by the Heart of Wales Brewery, which is based at the Neuadd Arms Hotel, was judged by a panel of expert tasters in the annual competition run by the Campaign for Real Ale. The heart of Wales Brewery has been brewing for six years and this is the first time they have won this award which is eagerly sort after by the sixty or so breweries in Wales.

The Heart of Wales Brewery also came second in the competition with their Welsh Black Stout, whilst third place went to the Rhymney Brewery of Blaenavon with their Hobby Horse bitter.  Full details here.
