Salem Ale Works, a small batch brewery, is now open at 2027 25th St. SE.
The brewery was started by college friends and former wildland firefighters Justin Ego and Jake Bonham.
They chose to keep the operation small to be able to produce more variety. They currently have five beers on tap including a Hootenanny Honey Basil, Drip Torch Amber Ale and a Pulaski Pale Ale.
Hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays.
