26th Colorado Brewers’ Festival Set for June 26-28 2015

(Fort Collins, CO) – The 26th edition of the Colorado Brewers’ Festival (COBF) is set for June

26-28, 2015 in downtown Fort Collins.

This year’s event will continue the momentum started last year with the 25th edition of the

pioneering COBF, which debuted in 1989.

The 2014 festival drew 18,000 attendees to the city’s Civic Center Park area. The attendance

total was a 100% boost over the 2013 festival and a 20% boost over the fest’s average annual

attendance.

In honor of its historic 25th edition last year, the COBF (one of the five oldest beer fests in the

US) added nine new features to create fresh appeal to Colorado’s beer drinkers and beer

makers.

Last year’s event featured over 100 beers from 50-plus breweries.

The 2015 festival will present a similar list of beer and breweries and will include new additions

of its own.

Those new attractions include a new Friday night limited-tickets, pre-festival event in

conjunction with the Colorado Brewers Guild. The event will showcase exceptional and rare

beers from the many Colorado brewers that make the Guild’s “The State of Craft Beer” mantra

ring true.

This beer-connoisseur-minded event will present limited-release and one-night-only beers,

local fare, performing artists and numerous Colorado brewers on hand to discuss their artful

creations.

"The COBF is an iconic beer festival,” says Steve Kurowski, marketing director for the

Colorado Brewers Guild. “We’re excited to join forces with the fest for this intimate experience

for Colorado craft beer lovers.  We are asking our brewery members to dig deep and bring

something very special, something they typically don’t serve at public events.”

The 2015 COBF will also include a newly designed area to showcase Fort Collins

breweries and their beers, from their flagship brews to exclusive creations brought in just for

the COBF.

Last year’s popular Beer School educational feature will be expanded for the 2015 fest. The

festival will also add an expanded number of beer-serving stations and taps to ensure faster

serving of beer to COBF attendees.

Returning COBF features include live music, local food and various attractions for families and

children. As it was last year, admission to the festival will be free.

Beer lovers looking to taste the fest’s liquid art will be able to buy beer-tasting packages at

The COBF was started in 1990 when Fort Collins brewers Doug Odell (Odell Brewing) and

Brad Page (Coopersmith’s Pub & Brewing) approached the Downtown Fort Collins Business

Association with the idea of a festival to showcase local brewers.

At the time, Fort Collins had just three microbreweries, Colorado had nine microbreweries and

the state’s brewery total was 11. Today Fort Collins has 16 breweries, Colorado’s brewery total

has surpassed 250 and the state is an epicenter of America’s world-renowned craft brewing

trade.
