Cape May Brewing Company Hosts an Earth Day Pint Night for The Nature Center of Cape May on 4/20

Cape May Brewing Company, the Jersey Shore’s premier local brewery, is pleased to announce their next Pint Night of the year — their Earth Day Pint Night — on Thursday, April 20th, in their Tasting Room at 1288 Hornet Road in the Cape May Airport. As part of their commitment to sustainability and environmental awareness, CMBC is celebrating Earth Day from 5 to 8pm, with $1 from each pint and flight of beers will be donated to two local organizations affiliated with the local Audubon Society: the Nature Center of Cape May and the Cape May Bird Observatory.

“We’re totally committed to being a good neighbor here at Cape May Brew Co.,” says president and co-founder Ryan Krill, “and we love supporting organizations that do the same. The Audubon Society’s presence in Cape May County, committed to conserving and restoring natural ecosystems, is being a good neighbor to us all.

“I’m thrilled that we have the chance to assist two local organizations devoted to such important work.”

Founded in 1992 and adopted by the New Jersey Audubon Society in 1995, the Nature Center of Cape May has the twin goals of creating a responsible stewardship program for open space around Cape May Harbor and providing environmental education to the people of Cape May. Their environmental education campus on Cape May Harbor includes the Trucksess Welcome Center, a three-story observation tower, indoor observation lounge, three classrooms, exhibit aquaria, a small gift shop, and multiple themed display gardens. Their location on the harbor provides a diversity of habitats, lending themselves to their full schedule of programming for the public throughout the year.

The Cape May Bird Observatory was founded in 1976 by the New Jersey Audubon Society. Since then, they’ve become a leader in research, environmental education, bird conservation, and recreational birding activities. Their location at Cape May — one of the planet’s most celebrated birding locations — has assisted their mission to connect people to nature. Adjacent to a wide array of habitats and protected natural areas provide for excellent birding opportunities in the Cape May region.

“It’s no secret that nature lovers, birders and outdoor enthusiasts like to finish off a day spent outside with a refreshing cold one!” says Gretchen Whitman, Director of the Nature Center of Cape May. “The atmosphere of the CMBC is so welcoming to allow folks to recount their outdoor experiences with each other, plan their next adventure, or just relax in the good company of like-minded friends. As the local centers of our state’s leading conservation organization, we’re honored to be chosen as the recipients of the Earth Day Pint Night. Our mission is to connect people to nature and steward the nature of today for the people of tomorrow, so, basically, every day is Earth Day for us!”

Cape May Brewing Company will be serving a special $5 flight of brews that evening — the Birder’s Flight — featuring their brews with close ties to the natural aspects of Cape May: Tide Table Pale Ale, Erosion American Wild Ale, their flagship Double IPA Coastal Evacuation, and Summer Catch, their Belgian Wheat, releasing that day.

While there, revelers will get a chance to meet representatives from the Nature Center and the Bird Observatory to learn more about their programs and initiatives. Individuals interested in volunteer possibilities will be able to speak with agents from the two organizations to learn about available opportunities.
