With the increasing number of requests I’m receiving to add “guest posts” to mybeerbuzz.com, I’ve found it necessary to formalize the details and process.

In general terms, I do accept guest posts as long as they are on-topic and feature original content (not appearing on any other site now or in the future).  Unfortunately, I receive a significant number of requests that start out as a “guest posts” but actually end up being much more.

I am happy to post guest content, however if your post falls into any of the below categories, I do charge an edit fee to publish or reserve the right to refuse or remove:

• Thinly-Veiled Advertising:  Posts that include links or content directed to profit or product-driven sites.
• SEO Boosters: Posts that include links or language geared toward boosting the SEO of other websites.
• Sales Promotion: Posts designed to sell, promote sales or generate traffic to promote a product.
• Recycled Content:  Articles that are posted across multiple sites that don’t feature original content.
• Off-Topic:  Posts that are outside of the topics covered on mybeerbuzz.com.
• Bad News: Posts that highlight negative, aggressive, hateful, hurtful, illegal, dangerous or potentially litigious content.
• Feels Bad: Posts that just feel wrong or are too controversial to me.

If your guest post requests meets any or several of the categories above, I reserve the right to decline the article or charge an edit fee. That fee will be based on the contents of the article itself as well as how many of the above categories it fits into.

As a follow up, yes I do frequently post guest content for free, and yes I do also post paid guest content.  Thankfully I’ve only had to refuse a few posts, so please do contact me if you are interesting in guest posting.
