Overhauling The Buzz – mybeerbuzz.com 4.0

Welcome to mybeerbuzz.com 4.0! If you’re reading this post, you’re looking at the all new mybeerbuzz.com website. First created in April 2008, mybeerbuzz has evolved from a simple “what’s on tap?” site to the news site you see today.

I first started mybeerbuzz.com using free tools and hosting from Google. Many of you already know that mybeerbuzz used to live at mybeerbuzz.blogspot.com, but over the last seventeen years, this has created more than a few problems. Google hosting was convenient, easy, and free, however the use of a blogspot domain has limited the growth and success of mybeerbuzz. The use of a blogspot domain has also helped minimize the authority or seriousness of the site….and finally, the use of a blogspot domain was killing our SEO.

With that in mind, it was time to overhaul the Buzz!

Moving forward, you’ll notice that the site now lives directly at mybeerbuzz.com and you may also notice that the site is now hosted on a CMS-based platform. This move will not only provide me with a more design and feature-rich environment to work in, but it will also make mybeerbuzz.com more visible from an SEO standpoint and more competitive in a crowded beer news segment.

Mybeerbuzz was overhauled in early 2025, and you’re looking at the new version. Please remember to browse to mybeerbuzz.com directly instead of the old blogspot site and stay tuned as we update and enhance the page features. The conversion process involved over 75,000 of my previous posts and a move from blogspot layouts to all new formats and pages. I’ll do my best to get everything converted and linked properly, but there may be some posts, especially the older ones, that may have a bumpy ride to the new site.
