Review–Mybeerbuzz.com Highlights The Irish Setter Boots Wingshooter XD Boots

I should say right up front, that I’m still enjoying my Irish Setter Fifty Boots. With over a year of use, they are looking and feeling great, so naturally I was excited to get a chance to test-drive another pair of Irish Setter boots.

Today’s boots are called the Wingshooter XD and they are the latest release in the Wingshooter lineup, which started 70-years ago. These boots have been a staple for construction workers and anyone in the brewing industry, and I’m excited to say that this new XD version adds even more durability and functionality.

The XD (Extreme Duty) version of the Wingshoter will feature a patent-pending ArmaTec toe cap that not only protects the toe of the boot, but also allows the boots to retain their original look without the need for an aftermarket toe protector. This diamond plate-look toe protects the boot and also meets ATSM safety standards (Waterproof, Slip Resistant & Electrical hazard) and the Leather Working Group uppers are durable and protective. If that’s not enough, the Wingshooter XD features UltraDry waterproofing for long-lasting dry feet as well as quick drying uppers and HRO soles designed to be heat resistant.

The white wedge sole not only looks great, but combines with the military-grade linings to provide long-lasting comfort and security….and as Irish Setter puts it, “Our iconic Wingshooter boots are now offered in an XD – extreme duty version for professions that require extra tough-
ness in their work boots,” said Charley Bryant, Irish Setter Product Merchant. “We rigorously test all our boots in our own
lab and conduct in-the-field testing. We knew we had a winner when we examined the Wingshooter XD boots after six
months of wear testing. Simply amazing results.”

I managed to test drive the Wingshooter XD not only on my slippery garage floor, but also in my muddy gardens and the boot simply does a great job. The wedge sole is super comfortable and the boots feet really supportive and stable even on slippery floors and muddy grass. They were easy on and easy off courtesy of the top two hook laces, and I can say that even in a full-on rainstorm and muddy conditions, my feet remained comfortable, blister free and completely dry.

I don’t currently do any sort of repetitive motion that involves wearing out the toe of the boot, but I can say after a few scuffs with the shovel and a few bumps changing tires, I have every reason to believe that the toe will last a very long time.

Finally I was able to try out the Wingshooter XD at one of our local breweries and I can say that they worked great. The boots did get really wet, and they remained secure on the wet floor and of course my socks remained dry.

Overall I have only good things to say about the Irish Setter Wingshooter XD boots. They fit comfortably, they look and feel great, they are completely waterproof and they’re up for any work task you can throw at them.

The Irish Setter Wingshooter XD are available now in 6-inch and 8-inch non-insulated brown leather, so get out there and try them for yourself…and when you do try them, be sure to let us know what YOU think.  zzubreebym
