Zeroday Brewing Company Opens In Midtown Harrisburg

Co-owners Theo and Brandalynn Armstrong were joined by Harrisburg Mayor Eric Papenfuse for an on-site ribbon cutting ceremony.

“We purposefully sought out a location within the City of Harrisburg, and we’re excited to join this tight-knit community,” Brandalynn said. “We’re just as eager to work with our neighbors as we are to have them taste our beers.”

The name, Zeroday, pays homage to a hiking term that refers to a day spent exploring a town, off the trail.

“We want Harrisburg to be a zero day town,” Theo said. “It’s a place worth stopping and exploring.”

On tap for opening day, Zeroday offers Firstborn, a dry stout; Wits End, a Belgian Witbier; Cheap Date, American Blonde ale; Dolce Vita, Chocolate Hazelnut Sweet Stout, and Zeroday IPA.

A light fare menu features their own hopped hummus, Hoptimus; a soft pretzel accompanied by mustard flight; select cheeses; and the Midtown Half Pound, hard pretzels with choice of mustard.
Brandalynn said the couple is focused on utilizing fellow Pennsylvania vendors for food and other products. As weather permits, Zeroday plans to partner with area food trucks to provide additional selections during weekend hours.

The Armstrongs kicked-off the project in 2013 with an official brand launch and corresponding crowdfunding campaign. Theo is the brewer, while Brandalynn handles the business side of the beer business. The duo utilized Brandalynn’s marketing and sales talents throughguerilla-style pop-up events that allowed them to introduce community members and beer lovers to their craft.

“We have gotten tremendous support from established breweries in the area,” Brandalynn said. “The local beer community has been integral to our success during this process.”
