I’m a bit of a fanatic when it comes to shoes. If you’ve read my show reviews or my latest review from today’s shoemaker, then you know I’m a bit picky with my footwear. After all, I have flat feet, I run and bike, I work in the yard and gardens and I even spend quite a few miles every weekend hiking our local trails; and if there’s anything I’ve learned, it’s that the right shoes for the right task are really important.

Today we’re test driving the Muckster Lite EVA Clog and I think you’ll find that while it may look like a familiar brand shoe, I assure you it’s much better.

If you’re not familiar, here’s how Muckster described the shoe:

Introducing an innovative one-piece clog from The Original Muck Boot Co. Inspired by our beloved Muckster collection, the Muckster Lite Clog is 50% lighter, offers independently verified SRC rated slip-resistant traction and provides excellent support and comfort for all-day wear. The Muckster Lite Clog is built from a high-performance, lightweight foam called Bio Lite which is ultra-durable and easy to clean. The upper features side ventilation holes for breathability and drainage for water and debris. The entire clog is constructed from Bio Lite which is eco-friendlier than many other injection molded foams in the market. Bio Lite has been granted a Green Leaf certificate by Intertek, an accredited independent 3rd party testing facility, verifying that this product will properly biodegrade in bioreactor landfills. Landfill biodegradation validated utilizing the ASTM D5511-18 test method, ISO 15985. The Muckster Lite offers a lighter footprint for your feet and the planet.

  • 100% Water-Friendly, 100% MUCKPROOF
  • Lightweight and Easy to Slip On/Off
  • One Piece EVA foam
  • Textured Insole for Comfort, Grip and Support
  • Breathable Side Ports for Water Drainage and Comfort
  • Easy-to-Clean/Hand Washable/Quick Drying Material
  • Eco-friendlier Bio Lite Outsole is Lightweight, Durable, and Provides SRC Rated Slip-Resistance. Landfill Bio-Degradation Validated Utilizing the ASTM D5511-18 Test Method, ISO 15985
  • SRC Rated for Excellent Multi-Surface Traction
  • ASTM D5511-18 / ISO 15985-14

The Muckster Lite serves many purposes, and I was excited to see just how flexible and functional it is. I started by wearing the Muckster Lite out to the mailbox to pick up the mail. From there I found it to be the perfect shoe to wear around the house…and if that wasn’t enough fun, I quickly realized the Muckster Lite is the perfect camp shoe.

Whether crossing a stream (and keeping your hiking boots dry) or recovering in camp after a long hike, the Muckster Lite is the perfect shoe. It’s lightweight, it has drain holes so water quickly exits, it is extremely comfortable and it’s the perfect shoe for relaxing around the campfire.

The Muckster Lite shoes are not only secure on your feet, but they also have a great non-slip sole making them feel safe and secure. Add in the texture insole and you have a great pair of shoes that not only feel secure, but they also slip on and off easily.

I should also mention that the Muckster Lite also come with a great environmental story. Muckster Lite’s are built with a lightweight foam called Bio Lite that will actually biodegrade in landfills.

I found the Muckster Lite to be lightweight, comfortable, easy to put on and off, grippy on slippery surfaces and they are even quick drying after you get them wet or muddy. Overall I’d say the Muckster Lite shoes check a lot of boxes around the house, in the garden, backpacking across a stream, running out for the mail and even wearing around the campsite. The shoes are comfortable, durable and simply easy and fun to wear, so get out there are try them for yourself…and when you do try them, be sure to let us know what YOU think.  zzubreebym
