BELGIUM COMES TO WEST CHESTER 2012

WEST CHESTER, PA – On Saturday, January 28, beginning at 1 p.m., brewers Larry Horwitz and Michael Rutkowski will bring together the East Coast’s finest craft brewers at Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant (3 West Gay Street, 610-738-9600) for the annual Belgium Comes to West Chester event celebrating Belgian beers.  Guests will meet the brewers and discover new Belgian styles on a pay-as-you-go basis; 12 oz. beers and samplers will be offered from more than 20 participating breweries.

“This is a great event that brings together many top breweries to celebrate Belgian-style beers,” says Rutkowski, who will be joined by fellow Iron Hill brewers in bringing their finest Belgian-style beers to the event.  Iron Hill selections will include:

·         Lancaster:  Brett Dubbel, with notes of bright fruit, funk and subtle raisin and roast;

·         Maple Shade:  Quadfather, a complex beer that is rich, dark and malty;

·         Media:  Brett American Brown Ale, American Brown Ale fermented with 100% Brett;

·         Newark:  FE 15 Anniversary Ale, a full-bodied American Imperial Tripel, brewed for Iron Hill’s 15th Anniversary;

·         North Wales:  Cherry Dubbel, 2008 Silver Great American Beer Festival winner in the Wood and Barrel Aged Sour Beers category;

·         West Chester:

o   Barrel-Fermented Witbier, Brett Buxx and Brett Drie;

o   Bourbon Vanilla Tripel, an Abbey Tripel aged in bourbon barrels;

o   Barrel-Fermented Saison, a Saison beer re-fermented in a Chardonnay barrel with Brett;

·         Wilmington:  Blackberry Saison, a Belgian-style Saison aged with blackberries in a lambic barrel.
