Introducing Chuckanut American Pilsner Collab with Breakside Brewery
Chuckanut Brewery located in Skagit Valley, will be releasing an American Pilsner collaboration with Breakside Brewing. The two breweries have been good friends for many years and in the past brewed a special Barrel Aged Bock together before Covid. That brew was made at the Slabtown Breakside. Recently, in August, Breakside came up to Chuckanut’s production facility in Burlington to brew an American Pilsner together. Look for the American Pilsner collaboration at Breakside Breweries, the Portland area and at the South Nut Tap Room in Burlington.
Chuckanut American Pilsner is a crisp, clean and refreshing lager featuring a vibrant hop character with notes of citrus and fruit coming from the use of WA grown hops. The new age hops are Lorien and a Hopsteiner Hallertau Blend made from German style hops. The Pilsner malts are sourced from Weyermann and Prairie. This all American pilsner is bright golden with floral, citrus and melon aromas in a clean, crisp beer. Wonderful paired with salads, chicken or white fish the American Pilsner is a food friendly sessionable beer worth seeking out. Supplies are limited, make sure to get it before it’s gone!
Chuckanut Brewery brews award winning Lagers and Ales and has won Large Brewery of the Year at WA Beer Awards 2017, 2019 and 2021 and Small Brewery at the GABF 2009 & 2011. The production facility and Tap Room is in Skagit Valley at 11937 Higgins Airport Way, Burlington, WA. Chuckanut welcomes guests of all ages and has indoor and outdoor seating! This 24 Nov 2025 update from Chuckanut:
It’s that time of year when knowing what’s new to have with your holiday parties is a fun addition to your entertaining. Chuckanut Brewery loves to pair beers with food so they have your back. Three Chuckanut beers are on their way to market. The Baltic Porter collaboration with Ashliegh Carter from Bierstadt Denver and Jeff Bagby from Bagby Beers joined Chuckanut in Burlington to brew the big Baltic Porter in August. The Baltic then aged for three months and has now been packaged for draft and can sales in the WA and OR markets. The highly drinkable golden Dortmunder Lager collaboration with Structures Brewery Bellingham is now available in both draft and cans as well. And at the start of December Chuckanut will roll out the Citra Pilsner for the holidays.
Baltic Porter is a fascinating beer that’s very smooth for its 8.2% ABV. Deep garnet in color with lots of roast malt this lager has roasted grain and port-like flavors and a complex bitterness. Great served with roasted or braised meats and veggies it holds up to anything with heavy and rich sauces. The Dortmunder Lager is a bright, golden, bready, crisp beer that falls between a Pilsner and Maibock. More malt fullness and higher ABV (5.8%) than Pilsner but gentle on the pallet. This crisp lager pairs well with pork, chicken or oysters! Chuckanut Citra Pilsner is a spin on the classic Chuckanut Pilsner but uses fruity, tropical Citra hops for an added twist. A combination of European and American style hops melt together wonderfully to create notes of grapefruit, lemon and guava and a spicy bitterness. Great paired with seafood, spicy foods or salads and light appetizers, Citra Pilsner if a fun way to celebrate the holiday season. All three beers are served on draft or sold in cans making them the perfect choice for your holiday parties.

About Chuckanut Brewery:
The Kempers and the Birth of Chuckanut Brewery
The story of Chuckanut Brewery is inextricably linked to the pioneering spirit of Mari and Will Kemper, two individuals who have indelibly shaped the landscape of American craft beer. Their journey began in the 1980s when they co-founded Thomas Kemper Brewery, a seminal force in the Northwest’s burgeoning craft beer scene. This venture marked the beginning of their lifelong passion for brewing and a testament to their entrepreneurial spirit.

Will became a sought-after consultant, helping to establish breweries across the country and even internationally.
