Hi Sean. I don’t know off hand if it will see distribution. I’m also not sure if it has even been released yet. This was posted in late Dec 2025, so it may not even be available. I get labels usually before the beers are even released. If I find anything out, I’ll add a new comment here.

Bil – Do you know if the Joe Montana can will only be available at the Baltimore Brewery? I collect cans and would like to get that one

Today, I bring you an interesting new beer coming in 2026 from Guinness Open Gate Brewery in Baltimore, Maryland. This is Lunar Flame, and it will be an ale with passion fruit and Szechuan pepper. This beer will be brewed to help celebrate The Year Of The Fire Horse in 2026, and it will ride in at 6%-AbV. You’re looking at the 16-oz can, and stay tuned for 2026 release details. I’ve also added in 2026 Legends Lager Joe Montana pale wheat lager (4.3%-AbV, 16-oz cans)

Label Text Guinness Open Gate Lunar Flame:

“Brewed to celebrate The Year Of The Fire Horse, this red ale glows with Szechuan peppercorn and passion fruit, capturing the untamed energy and grace of the horse. Raise a glass of Lunar Flame to ignite the spirit, carrying you boldly into the year ahead.”2026 Guinness Open Gate Joe Montana Legends Lager 16-oz Cans

Label Text Guinness Open Gate Legends Lager:

“Greatness takes time both on the field and the brewhouse. Our brewers teamed up with Joe Montana, who shared the story of an early ’90s football game in Germany that led to his first taste of German wheat beer. The love of great pints shared with great people was the spark for this pale wheat lager, with a name inspired by Joe’s legendary career and legacy. Extremely Limited Edition, Sip Accordingly.”

About Guinness Open Gate Brewery:

Although Arthur Guinness started brewing beer in Dublin, Ireland in 1759, brewing in other countries has long been a part of our story. We opened our first brewery outside of Ireland in London way back in 1936, and currently brew in nearly 50 countries around the world. While Ireland will always be our home, the beer industry here in the States is arguably the most dynamic and exciting in the world right now, and, put simply, we love being a part of it. This is our opportunity to show that we are more than just a single beer – we’re a brewery, capable of producing some of the most unique, innovative, and high-quality beer in the world. Our story is more than 260 years long – welcome to the newest chapter.

The Guinness Open Gate Brewery (or OGB for short) is the innovative and experimental arm of one of the world’s most beloved breweries. The original location was opened to the public in 2015, on the Dublin site that had been home to Guinness’s Product Research Unit, which was founded in 1904. In 2018, the first U.S. location was launched in Baltimore, MD, becoming the first stateside Guinness brewery in more than 60 years. The OGB focuses on creating new and innovative beers, serving unique and global cuisine alongside those beers, and highlighting the spirit of community, inclusivity, and hospitality that are the hallmarks of the Guinness brand.

LOOK OUT, CHICAGO.
The Guinness Open Gate Brewery Chicago features a Taproom, Restaurant, and the first-ever Guinness Bakery, all located right in the heart of Chicago’s West Loop. Come indulge both your curiosity and your taste buds while experimenting with a new world of flavor.

This is far from Guinness as usual. With more than 250 years of brewing experience, we’ve honed our craft, almost down to a science. But brewing is so much more than science; it’s where creativity and passion collide.
