We are pumped to announce the third annual KBS Week, in honor of the release ofKentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) this year! KBS Week will be taking place from Monday, March 7 through Saturday, March 12 with the taproom KBS release party capping off the week on March 12 from 11am-2am. KBS will be released across the rest of our distribution footprint beginning on April 1, 2016.

KBS Week is one of our favorite events of the year because we get to share the excitement surrounding this juggernaut of a beer with our devoted West Michigan community. 15 Founders-supporting bars and restaurants in and around Grand Rapids will receive a keg of KBS and will tap them at various times throughout the week, making KBS more accessible than ever.

Tickets for bottle sales of KBS will go on sale on Saturday, February 13 through Eventbrite. They sell out fast and are limited, but hopefully the ability to get KBS on draft and as close to the source as possible will alleviate some of the pain of possibly not getting KBS in bottles. There really is something to be said for enjoying it right out of the tap surrounded by people who love it just as much as you do.

Please keep in mind that this is a limited release. While we try to spread the love as much as possible, demand continues to surpass supply.

Please see below for a comprehensive list of relevant questions and answers. See you there!

When are KBS bottle sale tickets available for purchase?

Saturday, February 13 at 11am EST.

Where can I purchase tickets?

All tickets are sold via Eventbrite. You can purchase them here.

How many tickets can I buy?

1 ticket per person, regardless of day. There are 5 days available but you can only purchase 1 ticket total.

How quickly will tickets sell out?

We anticipate that all tickets will be in Eventbrite carts within minutes, however the event may not appear as “sold out” until all orders have been processed. This could take up to an hour.

How much is a ticket and what portion is donated to GRWW?

Each ticket is $5 total and all proceeds from ticket sales go directly to Grand Rapids Whitewater.

What does a ticket get you?

A ticket reserves you the opportunity to purchase a maximum of three 4-packs or 12 single bottles of KBS. You may make this purchase only on the day designated on your ticket and during the designated pickup time (all times EST).

What is the price of KBS?

Our suggested price (and what we are selling it for during KBS Week) is $20/4-pack or $5 per bottle.

What are the dates and pickup times?

Tuesday, 3/8 12pm-9pm

Wednesday, 3/9 12pm-9pm

Thursday, 3/10 12pm-9pm

Friday, 3/11 12pm-9pm

Saturday, 3/12 12pm-9pm

Where do I pick up my bottles?

From the NE corner of the building by our admin entrance. Don’t worry; there will be plenty of signs!

What do I need in order to pick up my KBS bottles?

You need a valid government-issued photo ID. Your name on the ID must match the name on the ticket. Tickets are non-transferable. Tickets are non-refundable. According to the rules outlined by the MLCC, we reserve the right to decline sale for any reason.

If I put a ticket in my cart am I guaranteed the ticket?

No. You are not guaranteed until you receive an Eventbrite email confirmation with your PDF ticket attached. You have 8 minutes to complete a successful purchase once the ticket is in your cart. If, for some reason, your card is declined or do not make the purchase within the 8-minute window, you’re no longer guaranteed that ticket and it will be sold to the next person.

My purchase went through, but I did not receive a confirmation email or I accidentally deleted my confirmation email. What do I do?

Check your SPAM folder. If you deleted that email, click “contact event organizer” on the Eventbrite page.

I wasn’t able to successfully purchase a ticket – will you release more?

No additional tickets will be sold. KBS will be sold in bottle and on draft throughout our distribution footprint – which includes 37 states – in limited amounts beginning April 1. Your best bet is to stay in touch with your local bottle shops and craft beer bars

.

How do I book a KBS Week package at local hotels?

Please visit our friend at Experience Grand Rapids to book a hotel. Hotel packages include discounted room rates, limited edition gear and more.

What bars/restaurants will be pouring KBS during KBS Week?

Check out kbsweek.com for the full schedule.

Did you make more KBS this year?

As we continue to produce a higher volume, the demand continues to grow. We strive to produce more, but that does not mean it’s more easily available.

Will you make more KBS next year?

We recently purchased a second building where we will focus on brewing specialty and limited beers. This will include KBS, but does not necessarily mean we will make more of it. There are many factors that affect the production of KBS (barrel availability, time required to brew and package it, etc.). We anticipate consumer demand to continue to grow as well.

Will KBS be available in bottles at any other time during the year?

You can occasionally find very limited quantities of KBS in our Company Store coolers throughout the year, but we never publicly announce this.

Outside of our taproom, KBS will be sold in bottle and on draft throughout our distribution footprint – which includes 37 states – in limited amounts. This begins on 4/1/16 and we anticipate it will sell quickly. Your best bet is to stay in touch with your local bottle shops and craft beer bars.

What other bars in Grand Rapids will be pouring KBS during KBS Week 2016?

A lot! Check kbsweek.com for more details.

If I attend the taproom release party can I pour my KBS into a growler?

No, but you are welcome to enjoy draft pours in the taproom.

Where can I find KBS outside of Grand Rapids/Michigan?

KBS will be sold in bottle and on draft throughout our distribution footprint – which includes 37 states – in limited amounts. Your best bet is to stay in touch with your local bottle shops and craft beer bars. KBS will be available on March 14 in Michigan and April 1 across our remaining distribution footprint.

Is KBS cellarable? What’s the shelf life?

The suggested shelf life is 365 days. Like all of our beers, we suggest that you drink it fresh. We like to say that if it’s meant to be aged, we age it for you.

Is the recipe the same?

The recipe is the same year after year. There should be no changes in flavor

.

Is there a new KBS glass this year?

There is. It will be sold exclusively in our Company Store and will not be available for purchase online at this time.

Will there be any new KBS gear for sale?

Yes, there is a new hoodie available for purchase in our Company Store and online shop.
