For more than two decades, Trumer Pils has been brewed in Berkeley, California, as a sister operation to Trumer Privatbrauerei in Obertrum, Austria, a brewery whose lineage stretches back to 1601. The U.S. brewery, operated by The Gambrinus Company, became known for importing Trumer’s hops, malt, and yeast directly from Europe and brewing the beer locally using the same traditional methods. Under longtime brewmaster Lars Larson, Trumer Pils earned 21 gold medals in prestigious global competitions, cementing its reputation as one of the most technically accomplished pilsners in the country.

With Firestone Walker now assuming stewardship, production of Trumer Pils will shift from Berkeley to the brewery’s flagship facility in Paso Robles, California.
