The leading ready-to-drink cocktail brand is serving up chills and cocktails with a haunted overnight experience that punctuates the ‘real spirits inside’ every Cutwater cocktail.

San Diego, California (September 16, 2025) – Cutwater, the #1 spirits-based canned cocktail brand1, is spotlighting the real award-winning spirits inside its portfolio, by launching a campaign that celebrates the essence of Halloween, all while turning canned cocktail skeptics into believers. From now through September 24th, fans can enter the “Real Spirits Inside” sweepstakes for the chance to win an overnight stay for two at Cleveland’s infamous Franklin Castle, one of America’s most famous haunted homes.

Built in 1881, Franklin Castle is steeped in chilling legends of ghostly cries, shadowy figures, hidden passageways, and more. Upon arrival, winners will receive ghost-hunting gear to use throughout the evening, exclusive Cutwater swag, and more. After settling into their pre-assigned rooms inside one of America’s most haunted houses, guests will gather to choose delicious cocktails and discover chilling encounters.

The spooky night will include:
●       A haunted tour with Franklin Castle historian William G Krejci
●       An optional cocktail tasting experience with Nikk Alcaraz
●       An optional cocktail-paired sensory dinner
●       A late-night ghost investigation led by Steve Gonsalves with provided paranormal-hunting tools, including EVP readers

“We are excited to bring the ‘Real Spirits Inside’ campaign to life with this festive, two-pronged approach. With this activation, we are hoping to educate 21+ drinkers that you can find real, award-winning spirits inside every Cutwater cocktail,” said Jakki Kay, Sr. Director of Marketing for Cutwater. “Whether you’re planning to garnish over ice for a Halloween party or just cracking open a can while looking for ghosts, Cutwater makes it easy to raise a glass to real quality you can taste.”

This spirited campaign and sweepstakes are designed to engage 21+ consumers and raise awareness about the premium quality of its cocktails. After all, haunted houses aren’t the only Halloween staple filled with real spirits. Each Cutwater cocktail is crafted from award-winning spirits, delivering consistent quality in every drink. This sweepstakes offers 21+ fans the chance to go from doubters to believers, underscoring Cutwater’s commitment to transparency, quality, and consistency — proving that when it comes to canned cocktails, the spirits are real.

About Cutwater

Anheuser-Busch-owned Cutwater, the most awarded canned cocktail brand in the U.S.1, is a San Diego-based distillery known for its award-winning lineup of 20+ canned cocktail classics made from its portfolio of bottled spirits that span nearly every spirits category including tequila, vodka, rum, gin, whiskey and liqueur. Co-Founder and Master Distiller Yuseff Cherney began distilling as a side project under Ballast Point Brewing. He started canning cocktails because he wanted to make drinks he could enjoy while doing the things he likes to do (mostly fishing and hiking). In 2017, Cutwater was established as a separate entity from the brewery and now operates from a 50,000-square-foot distillery and production facility, which includes a world-class tasting room and restaurant. To date, Cutwater has earned over 3,000 awards across its portfolio of products and is distributed in 48 states.
