Braxton Releasing Two New Bottles

Braxton Brewing Company is excited to release two new bottles. At their Winter Block Party on Saturday, December 2nd, they’ll be releasing a Braxton Labs variant of Dark Charge in 500ml bottles. In addition, their popular Peppermint Sweet Stout, Claus, is being released in gift sets this Friday, November 17th.

“The Labs variant of Dark Charge has been discussed since the opening of labs – taking one of our most sought after and limited products and putting a unique twist on it,” said Evan Rouse, Co-Founder & Chief Product Officer at Braxton Brewing Company. “We were trying to create something that we haven’t had before and that would push the envelope. We weren’t sure how it was going to turn out, but we are all extremely pleased with the end result.”

The Dark Charge Braxton Labs Variant was a true experiment for the company’s brewing team. Dark Charge, the Bourbon Barrel Aged Stout, was re-fermented with Pinot Noir grape must before aging for an additional 6 months in Pinot Noir wine barrels. The result is a beautiful twice barrel-aged imperial stout that highlights the vinous, dark fruit character without overwhelming the rest of the beer. It will be the most limited Dark Charge bottle, limited to one bottle per person and $15 per bottle.

Braxton Labs is the brewing company’s new, second facility in Newport, Kentucky. The space is dedicated to small batch innovation, experimentation and creativity. After opening in May of 2017, Braxton Labs has launched successful projects such as New England IPA’s, a Sweet Potato Casserole Imperial Brown Ale and more.

Before the brewery’s Winter Block Party but in time for the holidays, Braxton Brewing Company will be releasing Claus Peppermint Stout as part of a gift set that also includes a specialty Claus Glass and peppermint crunch french chews from Doscher’s Candies. 

Doscher’s Candies was founded in Cincinnati in 1871 and collaborated with Braxton on this project by providing the peppermint used in the base Sweet Stout. To celebrate the collaboration, the brewery has packaged this gift set that includes their famous french chew. 500 gift sets are available and will be released this Friday in the company’s Covington taproom. Gift sets are $14.99. They can be reserved online until Friday, November 17th at 12:00pm. Any bottles not reserved will be released to the public.
