Brasserie Cantillon Postpones Zwanze Day 2023 Until 2024

From Cantillon:

Dear friends,   zzubreebym

We have had many messages regarding the date for the next Zwanze Day.

Due to the workload of preparing Zwanze orders for our small team, combined with the daily work of the brewery, we have decided to move the date of this event to the spring. Zwanze Day will now take place every two years and will take place alternately with the Quintessence.

The cause is, once again, climate. When we launched Zwanze Day in 2011, all of our Zwanze customers’ orders were shipped out before we received our first shipments of grapes. So we could exclusively work on fruit from France and Italy.

The conditions are different today. With global warming a reality, harvest starts earlier and earlier. Last year we received the first grapes at the end of August! As you can imagine, all of the logistic management of preparations for Zwanze Day is complicated.

We hope you will understand our decision and give you a date for the next Zwanze Day in Spring 2024. The exact date will of course be announced in time.

Cheers!

——————-

Dear friends,

We have had a lot of messages about when we will be holding Zwanze this year. With the huge increase in Zwanze Day orders managing our regular seasonal work at the brewery becoming increasingly problematic, we have had to make the difficult decision to change the timing of future Zwanze Days.

The cause is once again the climate.

When we started Zwanze Day in 2011, almost all Zwanze orders had been shipped around the world before we received the first batch of fresh grapes. So we could spend our time afterwards exclusively processing the grapes that were imported from France and Italy.

As temperatures rise, grape harvest starts earlier and earlier each year, and this past season we received our first loads of grapes at the end of August!

Combining the two activities became increasingly difficult for our small team and therefore we decided to move Swanze Day to spring, in exchange for the Quintessence.

We hope you understand our decision and are looking forward to the next Zwanze Day in spring 2024.

Cheers!

——————-

Dear Friends,

We’ve received a lot of messages about when we’ll be holding Zwanze this year. As it’s becoming more and more problematic to manage our regular seasonal work in the brewery with the massive increase in orders for Zwanze Day, we’ve had to make the difficult decision to change the timing of future Zwanze Days.

The underlying cause comes down to climate change, once again. When we started Zwanze Day in 2011, nearly all the Zwanze orders had been dispatched around the world by the time we received the first shipment of grapes. We were thus able to devote our time afterward solely to working the grapes that were being shipped in from France and Italy. With temperatures on the rise, grape harvests begin earlier and earlier each year, and this past season we received the first shipments of grapes at the end of August.

The combination of these two demanding activities, which both require a significant amount of space in the brewery as well, is now too overwhelming for our small team. As a result, we have decided to move Zwanze Day to the spring – which means that Zwanze Day and Quintessence will now alternate every year.

We hope you can understand, and we’ll see you at our next Zwanze Day in the spring of 2024!

Cheers!
