Fall cider season is arriving early at Bold Rock Hard Cider, and one of the cidery’s most requested seasonal favorites is making a highly anticipated return. After being replaced by the tropical-inspired Paradise Orchard, Honeycrisp Hard Cider is coming back to the Bold Rock lineup just as consumers begin looking toward crisp apples, changing leaves and the flavors of autumn.

The returning Honeycrisp Hard Cider gives Bold Rock fans something they have apparently been asking for in unmistakable terms. Brewed around the recognizable character of Honeycrisp apples, the 4.7% ABV seasonal cider combines a warm golden appearance with bright apple flavor and a juicy, crisp finish designed to bridge the final days of summer with the beginning of fall.

Bold Rock has built a reputation for using its Blue Ridge Mountain apple roots as a foundation for both traditional and highly experimental cider releases. Recent MyBeerBuzz coverage has followed that evolution, from Bold Rock’s fan-driven Honeysuckle Cider and innovative Dill Pickle Cider to its expanding Imperial cider lineup.

The following is the official press release from Bold Rock Hard Cider.

Honeycrisp Hard Cider just in time for peak apple and cider selling season

NELLYSFORD, VA. – Bold Rock, the #1 regional cider brand 1 , is excited to bring back one of the most fan requested styles to join their best-selling cider assortment in the country 1 . The refreshingly crisp Honeycrisp Hard Cider will replace tropically inspired Paradise Orchard as Bold Rock’s seasonal offer.

The 4.7% ABV Honeycrisp with its warm golden hue, bright apple flavor, and juicy finish captures the quintessential fall experience. Starting August 14, it will be first available exclusively at Bold Rock’s Virginia and North Carolina taprooms before it ships to wholesalers on August 17. It will be available in 6-pack 12 oz. bottles, and on draught in select locations.

“We are very lucky to have extremely passionate and vocal consumers, and no cider has topped their “please bring it back” list quite like Honeycrisp. We are bringing it back as our first-ever seasonal throwback with hopes it delights both existing fans and those drinking it for the first time. Honeycrisp apples, known for their honeyed flavor and explosive crispness, have long ranked among the best-selling apple varieties in the U.S. We are excited to share our interpretation and make it the perfect sip to round up summertime and move to cozy fall days”, Veronika McKenney, Bold Rock Brand Manager, explains.

About Bold Rock Hard Cider

Founded in June 2012, Bold Rock crafts a variety of hard cider styles from apples harvested in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia and North Carolina and is the leading regional cider brand in the United States. In addition to its flagship cidery and distillery in Nellysford, VA, Bold Rock has a taproom in Mills River, NC, a seasonal outpost at Carter Mountain Orchard near Charlottesville, VA, and a presence at Brewers at 4001 Yancey, a collaborative taproom in Charlotte, NC.

Bold Rock’s award-winning line of hard cider varieties includes the flagship Apple, favorites such as Imperial and Blackberry, and the best-selling seasonal cider assortment in the country. In addition to hard cider, Bold Rock has innovated across a wide spectrum of craft beverages to incorporate ready-to-drink cocktails and high proof spirits which all feature the trademark Bold Rock commitment to refreshment and robust flavor.

In November 2019, Bold Rock joined the Artisanal Brewing Ventures family of brands which also includes Southern Tier Brewing Company, Victory Brewing Company and Sixpoint Brewery. Collectively the company is a top 9 regional craft brewer in the United States.

Artisanal Brewing Ventures is headquartered in Charlotte, NC, and has operations in Brooklyn, NY, Manhattan, NY, Lakewood, NY, Buffalo, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and metro Philadelphia.
