First low-calorie, low-carb offering from award-winning coastal brewery centers on popular IPA style, available throughout the Pacific Northwest PACIFIC CITY, Ore. (Oct. 15, 2026) — Pelican Brewing Company is wading into the light beer category by tackling a high-stakes beer style in the Pacific Northwest: IPA. The new Pelican Lite IPA, a full-flavored, low-carb and low-calorie brew for beer lovers, is crafted specially for the region’s active lifestyle. With three grams of carbs and 122 calories in one 12-ounce serving, this is a feel-good IPA that doesn’t sacrifice flavor. Featuring notes of crisp citrus and pine, with a clean, dry finish and vibrant hop character, Pelican Lite IPA is flavorful without being filling. With just a fraction of the carbs and roughly half the calories of traditional IPAs, Pelican Lite IPA could be expected to be light on taste and drinkability. However, the brew’s ABV of 5.4%, an anomaly in the light beer category, gives the beverage its body and allows it to stand up well on its own or paired with a meal. As Pelican celebrates 30 years in business, this new release proves the brewery’s passion for craft innovation continues to define the brand and shows no signs of slowing down. IPAs have consistently been a favorite style among the Pacific Northwest’s discerning craft brew drinkers, and formulating a recipe for a light version that would live up to PNW expectations could have a been a daunting process for some. Pelican, however, embraced the journey and experimented with several variations until finding the right recipe. “We set out to craft a light beer that would hit all the marks of a traditional IPA, from the first sip to the last,” said Darron Welch, Pelican’s Founding Brewmaster. “Cutting carbs and calories didn’t mean we had to scale back on the flavor experience, and as a result, beer lovers now have a wider choice in how to cap off their latest Pacific Northwest adventure.” Pelican Lite IPA is brewed and packaged in Pelican’s Tillamook production brewery and is available in six-packs, 12-ounce cans, 50-liter kegs and 1/6 barrels at all Pelican Brewing locations and select retailers throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Northern California. The new low-cal, low-carb IPA is already hitting store shelves. Find a local retailer by visiting pelicanbrewing.com/beer-finder/. Light versions of other Pelican favorites will join the lineup in 2027. About Pelican Brewing Company Born at the beach in 1996, Pelican Brewing Company is celebrating 30 years as Oregon’s only beachfront brewpub and one of the state’s most-decorated breweries (450+ awards). Playful but not frivolous, Pelican brews with purpose, passion and deep respect for the craft. The brewery operates coastal restaurants in Pacific City, Cannon Beach, Siletz Bay, Rockaway and Yachats; a production facility and taproom in Tillamook. Pelican beers can be found at Pelican locations and in stores across Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Northern California. Learn more on the Pelican Brewing website or Instagram.

Anheuser-Busch Emergency Drinking Water

When a hurricane leaves communities dealing with flooding, damaged roads and disrupted access to basic supplies, clean drinking water becomes one of the first needs that cannot wait. Anheuser-Busch is stepping in to help Florida residents recover from Hurricane Isaias, delivering more than 25,000 cans of emergency drinking water to communities along Florida’s Gulf Coast. The donation is intended to support residents and first responders dealing with the storm’s aftermath, with local distribution handled through the company’s longtime wholesaler partner, The Lewis Bear Company of Pensacola. Clean water matters. And when disaster strikes, getting it to the right people quickly can make a real difference.

The Anheuser-Busch emergency drinking water program has been operating for decades, and this latest Florida water donation adds another chapter to a relief effort that reaches well beyond the company’s beer business. The water was produced at Anheuser-Busch’s Cartersville, Georgia, brewery, where production can shift away from beer to help supply communities facing emergencies. It’s a practical use of the company’s brewing and packaging infrastructure, and one that connects its national distribution network with local organizations that understand what their communities need after a storm. Hurricane recovery takes time, and reliable access to safe drinking water is one of those basic needs that can easily become more difficult when normal services are disrupted.

For Florida residents affected by Hurricane Isaias, the donation also highlights the role that local wholesalers and disaster response partners play in getting supplies from a brewery to people who need them. The Lewis Bear Company worked with local officials and disaster response programs to distribute the canned water, bringing the effort into the communities dealing with the immediate effects of flooding and storm damage.

Anheuser-Busch says its emergency drinking water program, launched in 1988, has helped deliver more than 100 million cans of clean, safe drinking water to U.S. communities and volunteer fire departments through its wholesaler network. That’s a substantial long-term commitment, even if the real measure of the program is what it can provide during the next emergency.

There is a broader story here about how major American brewers can use their facilities, transportation networks and local business relationships to support disaster relief, particularly when hurricanes put pressure on already stretched communities. Anheuser-Busch has a long history of brewing iconic beer brands, but its emergency drinking water program gives the company another way to support people when conditions are difficult and supplies matter more than anything else.

The latest donation brings that effort to Florida’s Gulf Coast, where residents and first responders continue to deal with the effects of Hurricane Isaias. Here is the full press release from Anheuser-Busch detailing the 25,000-plus cans of emergency drinking water delivered to Florida, the role of The Lewis Bear Company, and the company’s nationwide disaster relief program.

The donation of emergency drinking water was shipped to Anheuser-Busch wholesaler partner The Lewis Bear Company of Pensacola, Florida, whose team partnered with local officials and disaster response programs to distribute water to local community members.

“The Lewis Bear Company is proud to work with Anheuser-Busch to provide emergency drinking water to affected communities as we recover from Hurricane Isaias,” said Chad Bonner, President of The Lewis Bear Company. “We are deeply grateful for the support and partnership of first responders, local disaster relief programs, and Anheuser-Busch in helping ensure our neighbors have safe, clean drinking water during this critical time.”

The 25,000+ cans of water were sourced from Anheuser-Busch’s brewery in Cartersville, Georgia, which alongside the Fort Collins, Colorado brewery, periodically pauses beer production to can emergency drinking water and help communities in times of disaster.
