Harpoon Camp Wannalimey: A New Lime Lager Is Coming Soon
Harpoon Brewery is getting ready to add another beer to its Camp lineup, and this time the flavor is all about lime. Following the original Camp Wannamango, Harpoon Camp Wannalimey brings a new twist to the seasonal series with a lager brewed using real lime and an approachable 4% ABV. The new 12-ounce can puts a bright, outdoorsy spin on the Harpoon Camp brand, with colorful packaging that looks ready for a day at the lake, a campsite or a backyard gathering.
The new Harpoon Camp Wannalimey lime lager leans into the kind of easygoing beer that makes sense when the weather warms up. Real lime is the defining ingredient, giving this release a citrus-forward identity while the lager format keeps the concept familiar to drinkers who want something lighter than a big, heavy craft beer. Harpoon describes the beer as a bright, refreshing lager, with a playful message built around summer adventures, questionable decisions and the occasional jump into the water before thinking things through.
Sometimes that is the whole idea.
At 4% alcohol by volume, Camp Wannalimey sits firmly in sessionable territory, making it a potential fit for longer afternoons when drinkers want to keep things light. The can’s vivid lime-green color, dark blue lettering and illustrated swimming-hole scene make the branding hard to miss, while the Camp Wannalimey name continues the outdoor theme established by its predecessor. The design is full of summer-camp references, from the pennant to the rope swing, and Harpoon’s familiar branding ties the new beer back to the Boston brewery.
The original Camp Wannamango introduced the mango side of the concept, and Camp Wannalimey now gives the series a distinctly citrus-driven direction. The two names share the same playful approach, but lime creates a different flavor expectation, especially for drinkers who enjoy citrus beers and lighter lagers. Harpoon says this new version is brewed with real lime, rather than relying only on a name or package design to suggest the flavor.
Real lime. Easy-drinking lager. A lower 4% ABV.
Those are the details that stand out so far, although the final drinking experience will depend on how the lime character balances against the malt and any bitterness in the finished beer. The supplied can label identifies the product as a lager with natural flavor and juice, so the citrus component is central to the beer’s presentation. It will be interesting to see whether the lime comes across as crisp and subtle or delivers a more pronounced citrus punch once the beer reaches drinkers.
Harpoon has not yet provided a confirmed release date or complete packaging information in the announcement details supplied here. For now, the new 12-ounce can offers the first look at what is coming, with additional release information still to follow. Drinkers looking for the next addition to the Harpoon Camp beer lineup will want to keep an eye out for updates as the brewery shares more.
Camp Wannalimey is coming. The next step is getting it into cans and out to beer drinkers.

About Harpoon Brewery:
Harpoon Brewery has been part of the New England craft beer story since 1986, when three friends set out to bring the kind of beer they enjoyed while traveling in Europe back to Boston, Massachusetts. What began as a small brewing operation on the Boston waterfront developed into one of the region’s best-known craft beer businesses, with a portfolio that now reaches well beyond its original ales. Nearly four decades later, Harpoon continues to build on its New England roots while introducing new beers, seasonal releases and creative flavor combinations for a changing beer market.
The brewery was founded by Dan Kenary, Rich Doyle and George Ligeti, three college friends who shared an interest in beer and the culture surrounding it. They wanted to create a brewery that could offer Boston drinkers more choices, with an emphasis on fresh beer, local connections and the enjoyment of sharing a pint. Harpoon received Massachusetts Brewing Permit #001 in 1986, marking an important milestone in the state’s modern craft brewing history. The company’s first beer, Harpoon Ale, was brewed in 1986 and delivered to its first accounts in 1987.
Harpoon’s growth accelerated with the introduction of Harpoon IPA in 1993. At a time when hop-forward India pale ales were far less common across much of the East Coast, the beer helped establish the brewery’s reputation with drinkers who wanted more flavor and character from their beer. Harpoon IPA became the company’s flagship and remains one of the most recognizable names in its portfolio. The brewery also developed a strong seasonal tradition, with beers such as Harpoon Winter Warmer and Harpoon Octoberfest helping connect its releases to New England’s changing seasons and local celebrations.
Expansion followed as demand increased. In 2000, Harpoon purchased the former Catamount Brewery facility in Windsor, Vermont, giving the company additional brewing capacity and a second important home in New England. The Vermont operation expanded Harpoon’s presence beyond Boston and reinforced its connection to a region with a strong agricultural identity and a growing craft beer culture. In 2014, Harpoon became employee-owned, adding another defining element to the company’s identity and long-term approach to its business.
Harpoon’s portfolio has continued to evolve with the craft beer market. Alongside its established ales and India pale ales, the brewery produces lagers, seasonal beers, specialty releases, cider and other beverages. Its lineup has included everything from traditional Oktoberfest-inspired beer to hop-forward releases and lighter options designed for casual drinking. This variety allows Harpoon to appeal to longtime craft beer fans while also reaching people who want an approachable beer without necessarily seeking a high-alcohol or intensely hopped experience.
That flexibility is part of what makes the new Camp Wannalimey release interesting. The Camp series takes a playful approach to summer beer, using colorful packaging, outdoor themes and fruit-inspired flavors to create a distinct identity. Camp Wannamango introduced the mango concept, while Camp Wannalimey brings real lime juice and natural flavor into a 4% ABV lager. The result is a release that fits the broader demand for refreshing, sessionable beers without abandoning Harpoon’s established brewing identity. Its camp-themed artwork and rope-swing imagery give the can a personality of its own, helping it stand out among seasonal beer offerings.
Harpoon also maintains a direct connection with drinkers through its brewery locations, taprooms, beer halls, events and brewery experiences. Its Boston location in the Seaport District and its Windsor, Vermont, brewery provide opportunities to experience the company beyond packaged beer. Visitors can explore beer offerings, enjoy food and take part in activities that bring the brewery’s social approach to life.

From its early days on the Boston waterfront to its expanding lineup of contemporary craft beverages, Harpoon Brewery has built its reputation around approachable beer, New England heritage and a willingness to keep developing new ideas. Camp Wannalimey is the latest example: a bright, lime-focused lager that adds another playful option to a brewery portfolio shaped by decades of brewing experience.
