Mybeerbuzz .com Highlight Elysian Pumpkin Pack 2021 (Review)

In the late 1990’s I discovered craft beer or “better beer” as I like to call it today. There were very few breweries of this type back then and even fewer beers that made their way to my Northeastern PA markets.

It took me a few years to discover pumpkin beers because they simply didn’t exist or weren’t available in our beer stores and bars. Fortunately for me I soon discovered a brewery that was opened in 1995 in Seattle, WA that became known for their pumpkin beers. That brewery was Elysian Brewing and at the time, one of their specialties was creating unique and flavorful pumpkin beers.

Jump forward to 2021 and of course Elysian is still creating some great fall pumpkin beers. With that in mind, I was very excited to get invited to attend the on-line launch to help kick off 2021 pumpkin season at Elysian.

For 2021 Elysian Brewing will be releasing the Pumpkin Pack (above) and it will be a 12-pack that includes 12oz bottles of The Great Pumpkin, Night Owl, Punkuccino and Dark O’ The Moon. This pumpkin-themed variety pack features these four iconic pumpkin-based beers and it will be available in Sept in most markets.

To launch pumpkin season, I sat down (on-line) with Elysian founders Joe Bisacca and Dave Buhler. Joe and Dave were kind enough to not only talk about and sample each beer with us, but also share some really fun stories about the origins of the beers, beer names and recipes. The beers themselves are really enjoyable, but the fun facts about each one as well as the development of pumpkin beers in general was really entertaining.

If you think that pumpkin beers are one-dimensional, then think again and try out the Elysian Pumpkin Pack. I promise you that you’ll find a variety of enjoyable flavors, styles and combinations.
