Maui Brewing Company On-boards Chief Sales Officer

INDUSTRY VETERAN CHRIS McJUNKIN JOINS THE ‘OHANA

Kihei, Hawaii (September 28, 2010) – Effective October 1^st, Maui Brewing Company welcomes the addition of a new Chief Sales Officer, Chris McJunkin. A 26-year veteran in the beer industry on both the wholesaler and supplier side, Chris will be instrumental in MBC’s commitment to growth in the ever-changing craft beverage market conditions.

Garrett Marrero, Co-Founder and CEO of Maui Brewing Co., said, “I’m excited to add Chris to our ‘ohana. He brings years of industry knowledge and a deep love for craft beer. We’re looking forward to growing the national presence of our Brand ‘Ohana with his support.”

Chris most recently served as Chief Commercial Officer for Sozo Hemp, a fast-growing startup in the medical hemp/CBD space, where he oversaw all sales, marketing, and operations while building teams and processes. Prior to that, he was a successful force in progress management at Craft Brewers Alliance, Vermont Hard Cider, Founders Brewing, and Scofflaw Brewing.

As Vice President of Sales at Founders Brewing, he led the brewery’s expansion into all 50 states while building out a national sales team and wholesaler network. He then joined Scofflaw Brewing as Chief Revenue Officer / Executive Vice President and helped build Scofflaw from startup into a 40,000 barrel brewery in three years, one of the fastest-growing breweries in the entire United States.

“Garrett has tremendous vision for Maui Brewing, Maui Hard Seltzer and Kupu Spirits. I am excited and humbled he tapped me as CSO to become a part of the Maui Brewing ‘Ohana and lead the charge at wholesale and retail for the team,” stated Chris. “Garrett and I found similarities in our passion for the business and how we see the MBC Brand ‘Ohana and brewery progressing over the next years. McJunkin will oversee sales, team building, distribution, and market expansions for Maui Brewing Company, as well as adding vision and strategy focused on brand awareness and consumer engagement at retail along with Garrett Marrero and the marketing team.
