Anheuser-Busch and Anheuser-Busch Foundation Celebrate Heritage and Commitment to St. Louis Community with Return of St. Louis Lager

November 16, 2021 (St. Louis, MO) – In celebration of Anheuser-Busch’s commitment to its hometown of St. Louis, MO, the brewer is bringing back their original flagship beer, St. Louis Lager, this holiday season.

St. Louis Lager was the flagship brand for the company when it was first founded in St. Louis more than 160 years ago. This darker, lager style beer which began as a regional beer was ultimately distributed all over the world – earning gold medals at tasting competitions in Philadelphia, Paris and Amsterdam.

More than 115 years since it was last produced, the iconic beer is being brewed for a limited time at the company’s Research Pilot Brewery in St. Louis based on the original recipe from the Anheuser-Busch archives and will be available at the Anheuser-Busch St. Louis Biergarten while supplies last.

In recognition of Anheuser-Busch’s and its Foundation’s longstanding commitment and non-profit partnerships in the local St. Louis community, the beer will be unveiled this week ahead of Giving Tuesday and followed by a special thank you reception for their local non-profit partners.

To commemorate this milestone, Anheuser-Busch will be donating $2 for each St. Louis Lager beer sold at the Biergarten to the 100 Neediest Cases campaign in addition to a $25,000 donation to the campaign from the Anheuser-Busch Foundation. United Way of Greater St. Louis leads the 100 Neediest Cases program which helps thousands of families and individuals throughout the St. Louis region during the holidays.
