Tröegs Hopora IPA Returns for Second Year as Fall Seasonal Release

HERSHEY, PA  – Tröegs Independent Brewing announces the release of Hopora IPA to usher in the fall season. Part of the Hershey, PA-based brewery’s seasonal series, Hopora sits alongside three other seasonally rotating beers including fan-favorites Field Study Summer IPA and Blizzard of Hops Winter IPA.

A tribute to the hop spirit for a bountiful crop, Hopora showcases the radiant tropical fruit and citrus notes of Solero hops.

“To me, Hopora captures the best of both IPA worlds – West Coast and hazy,” says Tröegs brewmaster and co-founding brother John Trogner. “It’s got just the right amount of bitterness that rolls into tropical aromas with notes of mango and passionfruit.”

Built on a backbone of pale malt, oats, and wheat, Hopora IPA clocks in at 6.2% ABV. Citra and Chinook hops round out the hop bill with supporting notes of grapefruit rind and subtle pine.

Like many of the independent, family-owned brewery’s recent beers, Hopora came to fruition through its 3-barrel “Scratch Lab” nano-brewery.

Designed by BrauKon, the Scratch Lab replicates the temperature controls, pressure, and geometry of the brewery’s 100-barrel production brewhouse.

“The Scratch Lab allows us to experiment and get even more granular with recipes,” says Trogner. “We can test different hop combinations and yeast strains side-by-side, which we couldn’t do with our larger Scratch brewhouse.”
