Shiner Oktoberfest Returning For Fall

Today I have an early peek at a returning 2025 fall beer from Shiner / Spoetzl Brewery.
As we approach the fall season, beer enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the return of seasonal brews that embody the spirit of autumn. One of the most notable among these is the Shiner Oktoberfest, a beloved tradition that captures the essence of Oktoberfest celebrations held in Munich, Germany. This festive event is characterized by its lively atmosphere, traditional music, and, of course, exceptional beer. Shiner Brewery’s interpretation of this classic style not only honors that tradition but also brings a unique Texan flair to the table.
For those unfamiliar with Märzen-style lagers, these beers are traditionally brewed in March and stored in cool cellars to be enjoyed during the fall. The significance of this timing is rooted in historical practices where brewers needed to create a beer that could last through the warmer months. Today, Shiner Oktoberfest provides a taste of that storied past while appealing to modern palates.

In addition to traditional food pairings, Shiner Oktoberfest can also serve as a fantastic base for seasonal cocktails. By mixing it with apple cider or using it in a beer cocktail, you can create unique concoctions that celebrate the flavors of fall. This versatility makes it a staple for any gathering, whether it’s a casual get-together or a more formal event.
As you prepare for the fall season, keep an eye out for Shiner Oktoberfest at your local retailer. With its rich tradition and distinctive flavor profile, it’s a brew that promises to deliver enjoyment and celebration in every sip. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to experience this fall classic and share it with friends and family as you raise a toast to the season. Cheers!
Pairing Shiner Oktoberfest with food can enhance your tasting experience. This beer complements a variety of dishes, particularly those associated with fall. Consider enjoying it with hearty meals like roasted turkey, sausages, or even pumpkin-flavored dishes. The malty sweetness of the beer works well to balance the spices and flavors commonly found in autumn cuisine.
Shiner Oktoberfest is crafted using a rich blend of malt and hops, which contribute to its smooth, amber-colored profile. Many beer aficionados appreciate the balanced flavor that comes from the use of Munich malt, giving it a slightly sweet and toasty taste. The incorporation of noble hops also adds a mild bitterness, enhancing the overall drinking experience. This lager boasts an ABV of 5.7%, making it a sessionable choice for gatherings and celebrations.
This is Shiner Oktoberfest 2025, a Märzen-style lager that will remain at 5.7%-AbV. This is the 12oz can and 12oz bottle and stay tuned for fall release details. I’ve also added in the 2026 12-oz cans below.
