Tripping Animals Boro DDH Hazy IPA: A New Collaboration with Brasserie du Bas-Canada

Tripping Animals Brewing is bringing another hop-forward collaboration to its upcoming beer lineup, and this one pairs the Doral, Florida, brewery with Canadian craft beer producer Brasserie du Bas-Canada. The new beer is Boro, a double dry-hopped hazy IPA that brings together four hop varieties and a colorful can design featuring a beaver enjoying a snack.

Boro is brewed with Citra, Peacharine, Riwaka and New Zealand Cascade hops, giving this collaboration plenty of potential for a layered, fruit-forward hop profile. The beer will arrive at 7% ABV in 16-ounce cans, putting it firmly in the territory of a full-strength hazy IPA rather than a lower-alcohol session beer.

A new IPA collaboration. Four hop varieties.

Tripping Animals Boro DDH Hazy IPA Details

The name Boro takes center stage on the can, with oversized lettering above an illustrated beaver holding what appears to be a piece of food. The animal sits against a bright orange circle surrounded by sketch-like vegetation, while the turquoise background makes the artwork stand out on a crowded craft beer shelf.

The label also prominently identifies the collaboration with Brasserie du Bas-Canada, a Canadian brewery known for its hop-forward beers and participation in the modern craft beer scene. Bringing these two producers together makes Boro an interesting addition to the continuing run of collaborative hazy IPAs.

The confirmed beer details are straightforward. Boro is a double dry-hopped hazy India Pale Ale, brewed with four named hop varieties and packaged in 16-ounce cans at 7% alcohol by volume.

Four Hops Define the Boro IPA Collaboration

Citra is one of the most recognizable American hop varieties in modern craft brewing, widely used for its citrus-forward character and potential notes of tropical fruit. It has become a familiar ingredient in hazy IPA recipes because it can deliver an expressive aroma without requiring the brewer to build the entire hop profile around one flavor.

Peacharine brings another dimension to the recipe. This New Zealand hop is associated with peach-like fruit character alongside citrus and other ripe-fruit impressions, making it a natural fit for a hazy IPA built around expressive hop aroma.

Riwaka is another New Zealand variety prized by brewers for its distinctive citrus character, often associated with grapefruit and tropical fruit. Its pungent aroma can add an assertive edge to a beer’s hop profile.

New Zealand Cascade rounds out the four-hop combination. While Cascade is widely recognized through its American brewing history, New Zealand-grown Cascade can contribute its own expression of citrus and other aromatic qualities.

Together, Citra, Peacharine, Riwaka and New Zealand Cascade give Boro a promising combination of citrus, tropical fruit and stone-fruit potential. The exact balance will depend on how the hops are used throughout the brewing process, and the brewery has not yet provided formal tasting notes for this release.

What Does Double Dry-Hopped Hazy IPA Mean?

The DDH designation stands for double dry-hopped. Dry hopping involves adding hops after the main wort-boiling stage, commonly during or after fermentation, to extract aromatic compounds without relying on a conventional boil addition.

The word “double” generally signals an intensified dry-hopping approach, although it does not establish one universal hop quantity or a standardized brewing procedure. Breweries can use different schedules and hop loads while applying the same description.

In a hazy IPA, dry hopping helps develop the expressive aroma that drinkers associate with citrus, tropical fruit and other modern hop varieties. The finished beer may also retain haze through interactions among hop compounds, proteins and other suspended material.

Boro’s four-hop recipe gives the collaboration plenty to work with, but the recipe alone cannot guarantee a specific flavor or bitterness level. Those details will become clearer when the beer is available to taste.

A Collaboration Between Florida and Canada

Tripping Animals Brewing has developed a recognizable identity through its colorful packaging, imaginative beer names and varied craft beer lineup. Based in Doral, Florida, the brewery produces hazy IPAs, double IPAs, sour ales, lagers and other styles, with collaborations forming a recurring part of its release program.

Brasserie du Bas-Canada brings a Canadian brewing perspective to Boro. The partnership connects two producers working in a craft beer market where collaborations allow breweries to exchange ideas, experiment with hop combinations and reach drinkers who follow both brands.

For fans of hazy IPA, the appeal here is the combination of four distinctive hops, a double dry-hopping approach and a collaboration between breweries in different countries.

When Will Tripping Animals Boro Be Available?

Boro is planned for 16-ounce cans at 7% ABV. A confirmed release date, retail availability and distribution details have not yet been provided in the supplied announcement.

For now, the beer is one to watch for fans of Tripping Animals Brewing, Brasserie du Bas-Canada and modern hop-forward craft beer. The artwork is unmistakable, and the hop lineup should make this collaboration worth following once additional information becomes available.

About Tripping Animals Brewing

Tripping Animals Brewing is an independent craft brewery based in Doral, Florida, known for its colorful can artwork, creative beer names and wide-ranging approach to modern craft brewing. Since opening in 2018, the brewery has built a recognizable identity in South Florida’s craft beer community, producing everything from hazy IPAs and double IPAs to fruited sour ales, lagers, stouts and other experimental releases.

The brewery’s personality is easy to recognize. Its cans frequently feature bold illustrations, unusual characters, playful typography and vivid colors that stand out on retail shelves. That visual approach has become a recognizable part of the Tripping Animals Brewing brand, giving individual beers their own identity while maintaining a consistent connection to the brewery.

Tripping Animals Brewing and Hazy IPA

Hazy IPA is an important part of the brewery’s broader lineup. These beers typically emphasize expressive hop aroma, fruit-forward flavor and a softer impression of bitterness than many traditional West Coast IPAs. Recipes can vary substantially, with brewers using different hop varieties, fermentation approaches and dry-hopping schedules to create distinctive results.

Tripping Animals has produced numerous hop-forward beers, including hazy IPAs and double IPAs, and has worked with other breweries on collaborative releases. Those projects allow participating brewers to combine ingredients and techniques while introducing their beers to new audiences.

The brewery’s hop-forward releases reflect the variety available within modern American IPA brewing. Citra, Mosaic, Amarillo and other familiar varieties appear throughout the wider hazy IPA category, while newer or less common hops can introduce different citrus, tropical fruit and stone-fruit characteristics.

The upcoming Boro DDH Hazy IPA collaboration adds another combination to that story, bringing together Citra, Peacharine, Riwaka and New Zealand Cascade in a 7% ABV beer brewed with Brasserie du Bas-Canada. The double dry-hopping approach points toward a recipe designed to emphasize hop aroma, although the final tasting profile will depend on the specific brewing process.

Creative Craft Beer Collaborations

Collaboration is a recurring part of Tripping Animals Brewing’s release strategy. Working with another brewery gives both partners an opportunity to explore a new recipe, share ideas and create a beer that reflects more than one brewing operation.

Previous Tripping Animals collaborations have included hop-forward beers as well as fruit-driven sour ales. The brewery has worked with producers from different parts of the United States and beyond, connecting its South Florida base with a wider network of craft beer makers.

These projects also create opportunities for experimentation. A hazy IPA collaboration might focus on a particular hop combination, while a sour beer could explore different fruits, acidity levels and flavor pairings. The style changes, but the basic idea remains the same: use a shared brewing project to make something that would not necessarily emerge from a brewery’s regular lineup.

Boro continues that approach through its partnership with Brasserie du Bas-Canada. The collaboration combines Tripping Animals’ established presence in Florida with a Canadian brewing partner, giving fans of both breweries another release to follow.

A Distinctive South Florida Brewery

Doral provides Tripping Animals Brewing with a base in the Miami metropolitan area, where the brewery participates in a diverse food, beverage and hospitality scene. South Florida’s craft beer community includes breweries producing traditional styles alongside experimental IPAs, fruited sour beers and other contemporary releases.

Tripping Animals fits comfortably into that mix through its emphasis on variety and distinctive presentation. Its lineup is not limited to one signature beer style, and the brewery’s releases cover a broad range of strengths, ingredients and brewing approaches.

That range gives drinkers different options depending on what they want from a beer. A hop-forward IPA offers a different experience from a fruited sour ale or a malt-focused stout, and a changing release lineup encourages customers to follow new arrivals rather than rely on one permanent selection.

The brewery’s artwork reinforces that sense of variety, with individual cans designed to make each release visually distinct. For craft beer fans, the combination of imaginative packaging, changing recipes and collaborative brewing helps make new releases part of the attraction.

Following Tripping Animals Brewing

Tripping Animals Brewing continues to release beers across multiple styles, with collaborations and limited releases adding variety to its lineup. Boro DDH Hazy IPA is another example of the brewery working with an outside partner while exploring the possibilities of modern hop-forward brewing.

For the latest information about the brewery, its beers and taproom offerings, visit the official Tripping Animals Brewing website. Readers can also follow MyBeerBuzz for additional coverage of Tripping Animals releases, brewery collaborations and new craft beers arriving in cans.

As the brewery continues to develop new recipes and partnerships, its mix of hazy IPAs, double IPAs, sour ales and other styles gives craft beer fans plenty of releases to watch. Boro adds a four-hop collaboration to that growing body of work, connecting a Florida brewery and a Canadian partner through a shared interest in contemporary craft beer.
