New Belgium Voodoo Ranger Mango Fuerza Is Coming

Today I have an exciting new member of the Voodoo Ranger family from New Belgium Brewing, and this one is bringing a combination of mango, lime and salt to a seriously big 9.5% ABV Imperial IPA. Meet New Belgium Voodoo Ranger Mango Fuerza, a new mango lime IPA with salt that looks ready to add another colorful and high-impact option to the ever-expanding Voodoo Ranger lineup.

The new New Belgium Voodoo Ranger Mango Fuerza is listed at 9.5% ABV, putting it directly into the Imperial IPA category and giving this new release some serious strength behind its tropical fruit character. According to the information accompanying this first look, the beer will be packaged in a 19.2-ounce can, making the single-serve tallboy format an important part of the new release.

And then there is that flavor combination: mango, lime and salt. Mango brings the tropical fruit component, lime suggests a bright citrus edge, while salt adds another layer to what should be a particularly distinctive Imperial IPA. The label itself makes the style and flavor direction impossible to miss, with “MANGO FUERZA” dominating the package beneath the Voodoo Ranger character.

The artwork is also unmistakably Voodoo Ranger. The familiar skeleton ranger appears wearing a large black western-style hat, complete with feathers and a belt, while an orange-and-black salamander sits prominently on his shoulder. The bright yellow, green and orange package gives New Belgium Voodoo Ranger Mango Fuerza a particularly bold appearance that should stand out in a crowded beer cooler.

New Belgium has already demonstrated that the Voodoo Ranger brand works comfortably with higher-ABV, fruit-forward IPAs. Juice Force IPA, for example, is a 9.5% ABV Hazy Imperial IPA, while Tropic Force IPA also comes in at 9.5% ABV with pineapple and mango flavors.

New Belgium Voodoo Ranger Mango Fuerza therefore fits naturally into that broader Voodoo Ranger family while adding its own mango-lime-and-salt identity.

Juice Force IPA arrived as a 9.5% ABV Hazy Imperial IPA combining mango, passion fruit and Mexican orange with an extensive hop bill. It also became available in single-serve 19.2-ounce cans, establishing a format that has become increasingly associated with the brand’s bigger, high-impact beers.

The brewery continued pushing that high-ABV direction with Voodoo Ranger G-Force Supercharged Juicy IPA, an 11% ABV mango-flavored Triple IPA introduced in a 19.2-ounce single-serve can. New Belgium described G-Force as a bold, ultra-juicy beer designed around the convenience of the tallboy format.

New Belgium’s Fort Collins brewery remains an important part of the company’s identity and visitor experience. The brewery’s current taproom lineup includes Voodoo Ranger beers alongside other New Belgium offerings, with Voodoo Ranger Imperial IPA, Juice Force IPA and Tropic Force IPA among the beers highlighted by the brewery. Tropic Force is described by New Belgium as a 9.5% ABV Imperial IPA featuring pineapple and mango flavors, while Juice Force is also 9.5% ABV.

The brewery’s Voodoo Ranger releases also demonstrate New Belgium’s willingness to experiment with fruit-forward IPA recipes. Earlier beers such as Voodoo Ranger 1985 IPA combined mango with pineapple and guava characteristics, while later releases explored everything from fruit punch flavors to collaborations and specialty ingredients.

That history makes Voodoo Ranger Mango Fuerza an interesting addition to the continuing evolution of the brand. Instead of simply emphasizing mango, the new beer adds lime and salt, creating a three-part flavor identity that separates it from previous Voodoo Ranger mango-focused releases. The 9.5% ABV also puts Mango Fuerza firmly into the stronger Imperial IPA territory that New Belgium has explored with several of its Voodoo Ranger releases.

The new Mango Lime Imperial IPA with Salt is also another example of how Voodoo Ranger uses distinctive package artwork to establish an immediate visual identity. Mango Fuerza features the iconic ranger skeleton alongside a salamander, western-style hat and bright yellow, green and orange graphics. The result is a package that clearly communicates that this is another unusual entry in the Voodoo Ranger family.

With Voodoo Ranger Mango Fuerza, New Belgium Brewing is adding another 9.5% ABV Imperial IPA to its growing lineup, this time combining mango, lime and salt in a 19.2-ounce can.
